Thanks Mackinator
Thanks Richard Mohler
Did anyone notice how I offset the center of the gradient background a little to the right to give it a sense of where the light is coming from?
THANKS AGAIN!

Nice Start
Very reminiscent of the Aqua series by Jairo Boudweyn. Have a look http://jairob.wincustomize.com/skins.aspx?p=7

If that was a compliment, thanks for the comparisons.
I don't think ******http://jairob.wincustomize.com/skins.aspx?skinid=11268&libid=8*****even looks close to what I have achieved with this piece.
His gallery does look very nice, thanks.

It does remind me of Jairo's stuff, but in a good way. I think you should definitely expand on this theme!!

It's a compliment. I have the entire Aqua series and yours as well.

That's kind of "blowing your own horn" don't you think? A little arrogant as well. Jairo's walls are much more detailed and refined, not to mention glossier and glassier. Your's is somewhat "ragged" around the edges but still a decent piece of work. I'm just not crazy about you comparing yourself with another artist and claiming to be "better".

I'll "litter" your wallpaper page with whatever I deem appropriate, it's my priveledge as a paying Wincustomize member. Did you think this page was just for blowing praise your way?

I still think your statement was arrogant and I could care less if you respond. BTW it got three stars not five..........

Hello mightmouth

1) You could have been a man and emailed me. Instead, you hide behind this site and run your mightmouth. This shows what kind of person you are and that your opinion is totally worthless in the real world. I bet you are a whole five-foot one and a half inches tall.

2) Seems I struck a nerve with you. You are rude and opinionated. Being a paying member does not allow you to deem anything, the only privilege you have is that of kissing my sweaty ass after I go for a morning jog. You can keep your opinions off this page mightmouth, or have you nothing better to do with your aimless life? Yes, I did think this page was for blowing praise my way as you so belligerently stated. Not for paying members with no art on their page and severe personality flaws to spend their life harassing people that do upload and share their works.

3)
Finally, your, BTW, is wrong. I had three and a half stars until you came along here. Big deal, little star, keep it. And Ive seen the likes of you down vote a friend of mine on here....even after Nikos put his five stars on top of his wallpaper it only moved one star up. These stars mean something to people out there who have nothing in their small worlds, like you. Once more, your silly little stars do not mean beans to me, take them all mightmouth. Keep deeming and subjecting others to your dictation. It doesnt work here with me. Take a long walk off a short pier for all the world cares.

Iain, I just dont get it. I never once said I was better than this guy. What is it with you people? This wallpaper was compared to his style. And I merely said that this looks better than his orange wallpaper. Not his entire gallery or him personallyhello??? One more time, I feel this Glass Citrus Treat looks better than his Aqua Orange. ..One work compared to one work. Do you understand now??? You all are entitled to your opinion, if you think an orange glass ball and no detail on leaves is better than this, I am alright with it. I just do not agree with you. Are you all denying my right to voice out my opinion? I am alright with that too. You all are my inspiration. Thanks

You most certainly have a right to your opinion just as people have a right to theirs. You cannot, however, expect people to agree with you. If only one person holds that opinion then you can ignore it. If more than one is saying it then maybe you need to objectively look at it. By choosing the style you have and the look of it you have set yourself up to be compared to Jairo. Jairo made his name doing glasswork. He has made a lot of money at it. Have you? People would not support his work as much as they do if it were not good. You cannot compare his superior quality and skill with your own Tommy. You might be good but not that good yet. Your leaves are not as crisp and clean as his. His work has more shape than yours and the render is cleaner. Your image is grainier than his.You have put a keyline around your shapes that in my view is too heavy. If you halved the keyline it would give it a crisper appearance and a cleaner look. By making it less coarse you may achieve a stronger sense of shape. The spatter effect you have used does not show the image off at its best. Now take this criticism in the spirit it is given. I am not knocking you personally. All I am doing is trying to help you improve. If you were as good as Jairo Tommy people would be beating down your door to do work for them.....are they? A little humility would take you a long way and gain you greater support. You are coming across as egotistical.

1) You still do not get Iain, I am not trying to 'copy' his style. If I were, these would look like glossy glass. And there is no key line around the shapes. I selected the shape and contracted the selection to make the highlights. I selected the shapes and brushed them with linear dodge to get the lower highlights.

2) There is no splatter either, I put a pattern style over the layer, blend to multiply, and then put that layer in a 'group' layer so I could 'sphere' it to oval, thus giving it a 'skin' look.

3) Why do you keep going on about me and this guy. I am happy he has made some dough with his works, good for him truly. But what's that have to do with me? I never claimed to be some wizard.

4) I can make an orange colored glass ball Iain, I took it the next level. This is not suppose to look like a glass ball. It's original title was,'Frosted Glass Orange' and maybe I should have stuck with that.

5) Everyone sees glass leaves and cries out I am ripping on someones style. Get over it and leave me alone about it. Again, if you like the orange glass ball as an orange then love it. If you want one with texture and a more realistic feel then download this and let it be.

6) As a matter of fact, I do have a lot of work coming in that I do right here from where I am typing this now, home, freelance. Leave me an email Iain and I'll send you a orange glass ball with a leaf on it.

Tommy, use all the excuses and justifications you want. THERE IS CLEARLY A KEYLINE.What you call texture is professionally known as spatter. You are known for attempting to copy other peoples styles. You have done it ever since I have known you. I wish you would develop your own style. You do good work in your own manner. You denigrate people whose work comes from tutorials yet use them yourself. You are a walking talking hypocrite. You call black white and white black just so long as you are ALWAYS right. It was not that long ago ,around a fortnight back you were complaining about being unemployed. Which is the truth? You have a lot of work or you are unemployed?I made one statement about you and Jairo and from that you draw I keep going on about it. Drop the drama. You are mistaken for thinking your effects on this image are realistic. That is my opinion. You do not have to agree. The manner you have laid the work out and the attempted appearance you have given it will naturally draw people to compare it to Jairo's work whether you like it or not. You need to live with that. So Tommy.Ben,Stu,Captain or Ancient or whatever other name you are calling yourself today enjoy life in your bubble. At the end of the day you are stuck with you. You cannot change anyone else or determine how they will behave or react. You can determine how you behave and react though and change yourself Tommy. I suspect you are losing traction buddy!

1) Iain, you are so far from what you are saying I hurt from the laughter. Please leave me alone. Are you that bored? Life changes, I have changed, things in my life have changed that you know nothing about. Stop claiming to know what you're talking about when you have no clear idea what you are saying.

2) Please leave me alone and stop casting your lame judgment on me. I feel like you are 'trolling' me. STOP IT NOW. Move on with YOUR life and STAY OUT OF MINE. Go draw stick people in the sand or do something else you know how to do.

3) You can suspect all you want inside your bubble,... buddy, why don't you just stay inside of it and keep your mouth shut and your eyes open. Who knows, you might just learn a thing or two....buddy.
4) Give me an email and I will prove I can do what I say. I'll send you a PSD and end your drama that will silence you and your opinions of what I can and can not do.

Sorry Tommy...no prize for seconds. I am happy to speak to you in the open Tommy. What I have to say I can say here. I have no need to hide from people with different aliases. When you can draw stick people as good as me you will be getting somewhere. What I notice is your need to degrade people in order to elevate yourself. That is clear all down this thread. What is that about Tommy? You are not happy these days unless people see you as you see your own deluded self. You have nothing I can learn from you other than how not to behave and I thank you for that!Catch you later Hero!
