This is very pretty. Perhaps a little too colorful for the mods, but not for me, as I love color. Keep on trying and you will be a success!

Thank you so much. I love your color sense. Spring Thing is gorgeous. However do you get those smooth effects with the apos? I've been rendering some at quality 3000 and 4 oversample and they still come out very chunky. Not sure what it is about bold colors. If you look at the desktops Microsoft and Apple include, they usually have some really colorful ones, but I guess if people liked those, they wouldn't be here looking for better ones. I do like softer colors, too. I'm just so tired of winter I am looking forward to some wildflowers. I should probably upload some softer ones and see if people like them better.

About Apo, I always render to a transparent background, so I can make it whatever I want. I do quality 1000, oversample, 1 filter 0.4, but I render twice the size of the finished product, ie 2580 x 2048 for a 1280 x 1024 wall. When you size them down after tweaking, they smooth right out. I usually layer the flame several times to bring out the hidden qualities. Occasionally, I apply a slight gaussian blur if needed. Hope this helps. My computer is an old dinosaur and this is about all it can handle for a render!

Oooh thank you! It does help. I was rendering ql 3000 and the 0.4 filtering but I wasn't using the transparent background or doubling the size. I have an old computer too. Takes hours. I can't wait to try your technique. It is really hard trying to work with them the way I was doing without the transparency. I'm excited now.

Using my parameters, most renders take around 2 hours, so I set them to render before I go to bed or in the morning before I go to work and then nothing else is going on whilst they render. By the by, if one tries to download this wallpaper, you get a 404 error and it isn't available. Might want to check into that. I can view full size and right click and save but no download. (I gave you the stars!)

Thanks for letting me know. I was wondering if people were right click saving because I had comments on it on the desktop shot. Try again now. I just downloaded it with no problems. It's been up here for days but I finally got the notice it has been "approved" so maybe they were changing some sort of status tag on it? Not sure, but it's working for me. Thanks for the stars! I had one Apo that took almost 12 hours to render because I was a teeny bit short of available memory so it only used 64. That was agonizing!
