I like it. Where did you get the NASA pic?

Well, I actually got it from a site called sillydude.com. Also, in the corner of the picture it says, "For more information, go to http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/ap001127.html" Glad you like it!

The Gimp triumphs again! Are you using windows gimp or linux gimp? (its better on linux btw... and it doesn't work for me on XP... but thats easily solved by dual booting)

the nighttime sat photo is quite nice, and a good choice.. the sunburst seems very stock though, and a bit more work on it would make this really nice

Capn: Windows gimp--I'm not familar with Linux, and I'm quite happy with XP. I'd rather not replace it. Migellito: It is a stock sunburst. I used one of the render functions in the Gimp to produce it. I don't really know how to improve it. If you'd like, ensregis@aol.com me and give me your advice.

Genius concept. The play with words in title linking to the picture impresentation.Great earth photo, really like it.
P.S>Can you put some stars in the back to accent the earth and give the sense of depth and a more 'spacy' look? Thanks in advance.

Actually, did you know that you can't see the stars around the earth when you're in space? The reflected sun off the earth (or, in this case, the sun itself shining behind the earth) blocks out the sun, just like the sun blocks out the stars during the day here on earth? I might consider that, actually.

Thanks so much for all your kind comments.

Oh, my last comment was supposed to have little "geek" tags around most of the first paragraph.

Thanks Alger!

Nicely Done. I viewed 103 pages of pictures (wallpaper) and this is the only one I commented on. Dan Nugent
