I went back and tried what you said... I think. I made the cracks the same color as the background and it was way to much red I think, not enough contrast. I can send you a copy or something to show but not sure it looks as good.

hmmm, i don't know then. maybe experiment with other colours. Who knows. It just looks a bit tacky. Maybe a whole new effect. Staind glass seems so basic.
