hmmm... maybe some trees... but I like the fact that it is plain also. Love the clouds. I wish there was one that was more bubblely than the others.

good stuff

Thx for the comments. Unfortunately I cant put trees in this pic cause Terragen doesnt have them implemented yet. Matt Fairclough (Who writes the Treeagen proggy in his spare time...) is currently trying to get trees/shrubs and rocks/boulders in terragen along with streams and waterfalls. You can visit the Terragen site at http://www.planetside.co.uk

I like this. I like how the clouds shadow on the land and its almost looks like a coral reef or something in the water. Good Job.

Like I said....'painted trees'.
Look outside the limitations of Terragen....open up PSP or Photoshop, whatever, and broaden your horizons.....[bit of a pun, that]...

Ohhhhhh..I see whatcha mean now...'painted trees'...Unfortunately, Im not anywhere near as good an artist as yourself... (Neither on paper nor on the comp') Dang, that is some watercolor...At first I thought it was a real pic...Also, I dont have any decent-quality photo manipulators...The best I have is 'Microsoft Photo Editor'...(Comes with OfficeXp)...which has nowhere near the power of either PaintShop or Photo Shop. Tho, thanks for the suggestion...Yea, I guess I should 'Broaden my Horizons' ... LOL

i dont really like it, it looks too fake with the edges and the greens look crappy

Comment #18 Monday, April 7, 2003 11:37 PM
higher resolution rendering would help with the edges

My apologies haakon7, tho with terragen its not easy to achieve realistic looking grass in every scene. This picture focuses on the beach and water, not the grass. And I can't render in anything larger than 1240x960 because I havent regestered Terragen...and I dont want to beacuse I don't have $80 to waste on a hobby like this. Tropical scenes like this are especially difficult to do because of the way Terragen is set up. If you would like, I can email you the terrain and world files so that you can tweak them to your liking.
