sorry to be updating again but it's been so long since I made a skin I find there's a lot of new stuff to learn. I had completely misinterpreted the taskbar stuff for XP so that's all fixed now and I added a vertical taskbar, but the biggest improvement is in getting rid of the pink when the window is very very small (like AIM lists). Thanks for your patience and your comments and thanks to Geoff Owen for sending me an idea that helped get the pink out

I have downloaded and road tested about 50 skins in the past year. In my humble opinion, SETI Green has no equal. It fits how I work, and the design is absolutely superb!! David, you are not only good at code, but have a very artistic flair also. Please write more! By the way, I noticed some music buttons while I was exploring the interface, but they didn't seem to launch any music. Is it for a future release, or am I just not wiring your skin properly?

Anyway, thanks for making staring at the computer for many hours a day much more enjoyable.

Garyr - Thanks a lot... the music buttons control either "WinAmp" or Coolplayer". You have to use one of those programs as your mp-3 player for the buttons to work.

I agree with the rest of the comments. I habitually change my windowblinds each day but I have had this on my desktop for a week and still love it.

However, the last release did something funny to my Object Bar. I use the Windows XP (*Use Windowblinds skin) option and with this release I have a very strange top border on the Object Bar top edge. Aside from that the ObjectBar skin is great.

I have been using WindowBlinds for a long while - since version 1 something, and this is, flat out, the best skin I have found (both of the SETI skins). If I had to say anything, the clock tends to disappear under the top edge of the taskbar when the window is maximized, and having one of the little 'resizer tabs' in the lower right would be a help - I tend to hit the on-top button when trying to resize.

Ignore the bit about the clock - that seems to be fixed in the latest update - beat me to the punch! Great work - nice to look at, and very functional. Now make one in blue.

this is awesome man, truly unique. this is the kinda stuff i load windowblinds for in the first place. i like all the custom window buttons too. just one question, is there a way to make the clock and winamp bar stay viewable without having to hit the buttons every time?

i do have ONE point of critizism [of the constructive type of course]. the start menu button's animation is a little sketchy, the animation and smoothness etc... when you mouse over on it more than once without actually clicking the mouse, the naimation seems to start mid way through and then theres a flash of black over the whole button. i recommend you convert the start button into a traditional mouse-over of some sort. but the rest of the skin totaly makes up for this, again good work!

I love this skin - it is on at work and at home now. The only problem is the Object Bar glitch as reported earlier. There are little pink dots on the top edge of the task bar. Otherwise, this is one of the best skins (definately not XP-ish - that's a plus in my book)

I can make it so the clock and winamp buttons are always visible, but you won't be able to turn them off then. The toggle buttons for visibility always start with a visible state (I think - I'll check on it).
I don't know where the black frame comes from in the animation. I only see it at the last frame if I let it play over and over. I tried to make it so it would pop open if your mouse went over, off, and over again rapidly and amazingly, it does. I'm happy with it but I'll see if I can find the source of that black frame. It's set to stop the animation as soon as there is a click.

I haven't tried the Object Bar thing (don't know how ) but maybe it would work if there was an actual OB skin and not a converted one? There is a single pixel line of transparency over the green parts in the sizing handle of the taskbar - maybe OB doesn't support that in a converted skin.

okay - I found the black frame and fixed it. Also I found out that I had to add a userpic for the XP start panel for anyone logging on to a domain so their name goes in the right place. With all the guff about updating skins I'll just offer here to send the fixes to anyone that wants them by email...

I'll post a screen shot of it over in the windowblinds.binaries NG. Maybe that will help.

The only problem with this skin is: it is so good, you won't want to change it out for another! That sorta defeats the purpose of having a user customizable interface.

As Mercury_X said, this is the sort of skin WindowBlinds was made for. The only things I'd say is that the help button is visible even when no help is available, and that the menubar text is white (and so not very readable) when you click an item - eg File. This really is a superb skin.

I've looked at *hundreds* of skins but NONE, I repeat -- NONE, match your two SETI skins. No matter how hard I look, I can find no other to supplant yours. The design is clean and efficient with a perfect set of features. Well done!!!

This is the latest (and last hopefully) version with all the fixes and tweaks in it (as of March-14) so you don't have to email me for the new version anymore... just download this one.

In control panel > display > advanced, when I change the application workspace to white, it doesn't have any effect. When I am working in Agent or in an editor, I prefer a white background. Can you make this user selectable?

You should be able to change that color in the display properties, then save it as a theme and apply it. Then uncheck the "use skins colors" in the WB config panel under "settings" and it will stay that color through restarts.
