It was inspired by noticing that the catagory was listed as "MOST minimalistic" (at least in some places) - and when I saw that, my perverse sense of humour meant I wanted to see just how minimal something could be and still be usable.
BTW, the Windows classic + High contrast B/W is just that - Black and white, it keeps the standard Windows "theme" where as this has a different style. This also skins the toolbar buttons, animations, compact start menu etc which the High contrast option does not. Try it and see the difference yourself - High contrast still looks unmistakably like standard Windows - this doesn't...well, not as much
