one more thing.....when i created this skin I did not even know that there was such a thing as the Royale by microsoft, or that my skin looked like the royale, or media centre edition. but i dont know why my skin looks so much like them when i did not use them to make it!! ......
seriously i did not copy the microsoft royale or whatever.......i just re did the look of xp but in minor ways......... hahaha!! nevermind if you don't like it...

I am another one with the tecnichal problem of non-functional substyles. The default blue looks great and its the only one that
is functional (even after various uninstall reinstalls). One may fully appreciate the choice of colors only if they work. It seems that there is a very good group of helpful and talented skinners around that may choose to avail their help if it was requested. As for me the skin was too large for only one available color(blue) so I removed it and I hope for a future update that
resolves the issue of the non-functioning substyles and look forward to using them.

i like that you tried to spice up xp, but the whole idea behind windowblinds is to get rid of the xp look. |
I wonder what that's supposed to mean, "the whole idea behind windowblinds." Whose idea? Stardock? Then why have they distributed a Luna skin, for the ostensible purpose of allowing users window acceleration effects even if they wanted to keep the Luna look? Or are you talking about users? Do you have a poll as to their purposes in buying the product?
Beware of people who attribute their personal whims to some ill-defined "purpose."

it's just a skin i made to look somewhat like the original xp skin but a little changed. [facelifted]... |
Then what do you say to the criticism that it isn't facelifted, but actually "facedropped." Luna does a much better job with the Office 2003 title bar. Can anyone argue differently? You have regressed it to basic Windows XP style. Who is a dull yellow/gray "spiced up" as compared to a medium-light blue that actually matches the blue color scheme?

its a facelift of the original xp skin, the default one that comes with windows xp, not a facelift of the luna skin. but apparently and unfortunately, the facelift i made of the windows xp ORIGINAL skin looks so much like the luna/royale that you folks think i'm doing a skin which is based on luna/royale! well, it's not..haha!!
well, the substyles do not work.......that's sad! i will try to solve the problem asap.........pls be patient!! thanks for the support of everyone who likes this skin!
Maybe in future I might skin the toolbars along as well since it appears to go better!! But if I do that it will really look like im ripping off luna/royale!!
oh, did i mention, this skin has nothing to do with the royale/luna skin and I did not even know about the skin called royale/luna when i made this skin. it's meant for people who use the default xp skin and are tried, so this skin gives it a fresher look! i still don't know why my skin looks so much like royale/luna in the end! that's sad! maybe it's the glassy surfaces which I used.....Did not obtain the glass styles from royale/luna also!!

Luna is the name of the original XP skin. I'm not talking about Luna Royale; I'm not accusing you of copying it. Completely different point. I'm saying that if it's a facelift, it should look better than the original XP skin, Luna. But it doesn't, because Luna does a much better job with the toolbar coloration in Office 2003 applications. You know how the toolbars are 3-d? Their color is adjusted with the Luna skins. The blue one has a nice blue toolbar, the olive one a correspondingly colored toolbar. But your skin using the generic yellow color. It is just not as good, not as "facelifted" as the original skin. Your skin is deficient in how it handles Word, Excel, etc. Take a lot at MS Word 2003 as the toolbars appear with Luna (the original XP skin) as compared to your skin, and tell me Luna doesn't do it better.

sorry for my ignorance.......i thought luna is royale.......sorry.......
i did not know what u meant about the office 2003 as im using office 2000! apparently the luna xp skin does nothing to the toolbars of office 2000..
erm......
so its a face lift of luna you still didnt get permission from microsoft end of story |
regarding getting permission from microsoft, is it really necessary? i thought getting permission is only if you do a whole lift of a skin from them, for example, Kol's vistaxp, which was asked to be removed by microsoft.. but mine is different as i did not make an exact copy of a particular skin.....it's maybe a completely new skin but i just made it to look like the normal one but just have different styling elements... am i right to say it? i don't mean to offend anyone...... and if im wrong, please forgive my ignorance! yah i know im a newbie skinner still......3rd skin only!!
