And every skinner had to begin somewhere....seems to me, your beginnings show great potential and that great things are yet to come. Its a basic skin that I find quite usable and easy on the eyes...love dark skins and the yellow gives it a nice balance. Being your first, it's to be expected that you're not going to be adding alot of bells and whistle, etc....but hey, this one's worth a few updates as you honed your talent and skills.
Sorry, but I do have to agree about the start button needing to be changed....I'm not that fond of the 'road sign' effect...was using 'whiteout' to cover it, but found a bandaid easier to remove later
Congrats on a great first up....keep 'em coming

I may redo the start button in an update; it was made when the skin was still in infancy and reaatins some of that idea.
I believe that the wallpaper is available on this website--I won't include it since it is someone else work. Try searching google for "VLADSTUDIO" (This is in the bottom right corner of the image--give it a shot)

For your first skin its a very good one, espacially the refreshing color combination, its my favourite now, as allready sad, keep up the good work and hope a lot to come from your hands.

= You know,come to think about it,some time ago the boys at WinCuston put a blank,basic skin in the menu so guys could get the feel of what the studio was all about.You could take that blank and add your favorite colors or play with fonts and task bars.There was a bunch of things you could do just to get the feel or should say taste of what the skinner had to go through.The older guys know what I'm talkin' about. Could be where they got thier start. I'd like to see the head hanchos put that blank back. if for nothing else,maybe for old times sake, Your skin reminds me of that time long ago.-
