As a huge fan of the Frank Herbert books, this skin naturally caught my eye. The Game was pretty good as well. The top bar of the skin is superb. But the rest of the window border is rather bland. I love the skin overall, but if you ever update it, perhaps you could add a little texture. Not a lot mind you maybe something like the dissident orthodox theme by Mike Bryant that is contained in the unorthodox skin pack. He didn't do anything spectacular to dress it up, just a few well placed separations and lines.
Please though don't take those remarks as critical, I really think the skin is awesome as is.

Hi Zero X 2 and whatamitnick,

Thanks for taking the time to give me some feedback. Zero, I'm sorry on the V5 only. I wasn't able to accomplish my vision for the skin in 4.5. I promise either the Fremen or Harkonnen skins I'm working on will be 4.5 compatible.

Well whatamitnick, I don't have the unorthodox skin pack. Just about the only WinCustomize/Stardock product I haven't bought. I'm off to look at the screen shots, to see what you are talking about. There is bound to be an update down the road, and I'll certainly take your suggestions into account. I just had so many hours into this project, I wanted to give birth to it.

Pretty neat. Color and texture are cool except for the 'nilla. My start menu is the same design but short and squatty but yours shows taller and thinner, why is that? All and all though,a good everyday user and a real good job to boot.-

Hi Blazeaway and whatamitnik,

I fixed the slider controls, but have no idea of why you are getting a squatty start menu, Blazeaway. Also, I'm not sure what the 'nilla is. Could you translate for me?

I modified the window borders somewhat, whatamitnik. I couldn't see all the different skins in the unorthodox skin pack, but the one that I could see had some cutouts in the side bars.

Keep the ideas coming!

Nice skin but needs work and polish.

Hey there. Overall a great skin, especially if you're any kind of Dune fan, however, for some reason, I don't seem to have the wallpaper. Is it part of the pack, or do we need to dl it seperately? Thanks for everything.

Hi j2Kuul,

As for being a Dune fan, I think Frank Herbert's books are my favorite of all science fiction. I don't think the movie or the mini-series dit it justice.

As for the wallpaper, there should be two zip files in the same directory as the WindowBlind. The names are wallpaper_1024x768 and wallpaper_1280x1024. Each zip contains three wallpapers for the skin and a .PSD file, so you can put your own images in the wall of monitors. I usually don't have much luck getting my wallpapers approved at WinCustomize, but in this case I did.
The links are 1024x768: http://netbadger.wincustomize.com/ViewSkin.aspx?SkinID=27210&LibID=8&comments=1
and for the 1280x1024: http://netbadger.wincustomize.com/ViewSkin.aspx?SkinID=27209&LibID=8&comments=1

I have to agree with you NetBadger on the movie (a little long and a smidge boring) and the mini-series (interesting). This series has a wealth of possibilities for skinning! I'm in the middle of re reading it. I finally completed getting the books. I now have the entire set. It was really great that Brian Herbert took up where his father left off. As soon as I get WB5 I will be dl this! I have to hand it to all you skinners! what great imaginations! I am still learning and trying to figure it out.(skinning). I hope to join you in the future! Now to start with something easy, like wallpaper...... Keep up the Great work!!!

Hi Pumakitten57,
Thanks for the feedback. As for "starting with something easy, like wallpaper", I have more trouble getting my wallpapers approved than any skinning I do here

Good luck no matter where you start!

Looking at your picture [Start Menu] it appears that each icon sets within its own. Not sure just how better to express this. Anyway, our's does not. We have the "flat look" if you will until you move the cursor over each individual icon and then of course there is a normal highlight.

Hi Firedogs Ron & Son Jose,

I was wondering if anybody would catch that. When I went to do the screen shot, I had to press the CTRL key and then the PrtScn key. Well, when I pressed the CTRL key about 4 of the items on the Start menu went into mouse over state. Thinking that looked horrible, I moused over the rest of the items on the Start menu. Now all of them looked the same, which was better, but it didn't display the "real world" view of that menu. Well, I'm busted. You are seeing the menu the correct way. If you hold down the CTRL key, you can recreate the some buttons pressed look.

I'm busted!

Thank you for your response. As for my personal taste your screen shot looked dynamite! That is, the "raised metal framed look" w/icons on same surface coupled with the "appeared to be indented background". A couple of years ago someone had done an actual working skin as I describe, but I have yet to find it again. It may have been one of those lost during a winCustomize meltdown and was never uploaded again by the author. Absent this, your in reality style is nice.

I'm also getting short and squatty. One other thing. Is there any way to make the fonts bigger? I'm over 40 and can't see so good anymore. Otherwise great skin.
