BUT it is far from complete and you are leaving yourself wide open for some rude remarks when you put something like "most of you won't notice" in the description. Believe me, the people who download do notice.
Here's a bit of advice I received from some of the great skinners when I started out: although it is exciting to get something done and want to share it with the world, but you should really try to finish as much of the skin as possible before you upload. That means going beyond just the start panel, taskbar and basic shellstyles. Make as many of the images as you possibly can, don't just recolor or use the default ones. Skin everything. It's a lot of work, but the end result is well worth the effort.
I can't wait to see a finished skin from you.

Well, I noticed. First of all the All Programs and ShutDown/LogOff buttons aren't skinned. I haven't downloaded it yet, but if I do then I'll take a closer look at everything. |
The first finished release (out very soon) will have that.
Did you include wallpaper? |
Not in this release, but it's already in the next one.
Josh...it's a nice start. BUT it is far from complete and you are leaving yourself wide open for some rude remarks when you put something like "most of you won't notice" in the description. Thanks for all your advice. I see what you're saying. The end result of this skin I believe was well worth the effort. I can't wait to put the 100% complete version up for testing!

The start panel, taskbar and shell style is all I'm really after when I download a new wb skin - but that's just me and I'm sure I'm part of the minority on this viewpoint. I've downloaded this skin and found it to be something that I could work with on a daily basis and that means it nice to look at, easy on the eyes and practical. When I'm at work and staring at my screen for extended periods of time, having a skin like this makes it easy - that's a huge factor for me, can I use a skin for an extended period of time without having to change it in a few hours because it's too bright or flashy.
Nice job on this skin, I look forward to seeing more of your work!
