This is beautiful. I really like what you have done and it's a big improvement. I really look forward to your future work. I really think that you could be one of the greats around here. 5 stars from me. |
I agree. VERY big improvement. Haha. Here's actually a little preview of what I'm going to do next since you mentioned it:
this (skin idea)
Maybe someday I will be one of the greats.

It looks very nice, but I cannot get it to install. I click on add skin, and nothing shows up. click on rebuild skins list, still nothing. |
Did you try manually extracting it into your skins folder?

I've noticed 2 strange things. 1 is the IE7 doesn't seem to be skinned properly. There's some black showing. Also when I got an appointment alert from Outlook, the title bar wasn't appearing. Anyone else have these issues? |
Really? Could you possibly give me a screenshot of both? My IE7 is skinned fine when I put it on there. Did you try restarting your computer after applying the skin? I know once it changed my color scheme (to black and white highlights and stuff) and all I had to do was restart.

The grey version is clean, elegant, and easy on the eyes- perfect for everyday use. Up until now "Thallos" had been my favorite grey skin...this may take its place. Only a couple of minor gripes: the unselected start button is almost invisible. Also, I can't seem to override the dark grey application background (I usually prefer a mid-grey). This is the first skin that hasn't let me do that. But, like I said, very minor complaints. I still give it 5 stars! |
thanks a lot! that's kind of what i was going for. I could probably put a little darker of a border around the start button, but i've tried different colors and none of them really look right. About the app background: i dunno why that's happening. i'll mess around with it and see what's up.

very nice skin. i thought the close buttons looked lame in the SS, but when i used it, they match very well and i like it. where can i get that wallpaper to complete this theme? |
Hmm. The wallpaper isn't included when you apply the skin? It should be. If they aren't with the file you downloaded I'll upload them online for you...
Click for...
White Pearl
or...
Grey

Once I restarted my machine, I was able to change the app background. I had tried it three times before and it didn't work. Go figure...
Anyway, thanks again for such a nice skin...looking foward to your future submissions.

Also, the skin filename is still labeled with "v1.0". Is it really updated as titled or...?

Hmm... I'm also seem to be having trouble getting the skin to install. I've tried both methods: Adding the skin from disk from WB's config window and manually extracting the files into a simple folder (named WhitePearl). Neither of those two methods work. I had it working at one time but... for some reason, the skin doesn't seem to stay listed? Also, the skin filename is still labeled with "v1.0". Is it really updated as titled or...? |
Hmm. I don't know why some people are having trouble installing it. It seems to work fine for most! What did you do when you had it working the first time?
And I don't know what's up with the "v1.0" thing. It does that to me too. It also says "Multicolor Pearl" which I've changed many times. I guess it's not good to rename a skin after you complete it.
