That doesn't mean you're done with it. I have yet to post one and I have spent months on some.
There aren't as many 'professionals' as there are experienced skinners. And like it or not, for fun or not...as all like myself who post here...the comments sections are what they are and people will comment. Overall, most who have commented want to help you. There are 'better' skins that don't get as much feedback as you do. What will it take for you to see that you have a community with a wealth of knowledge right at your fingertips that wants to help?
Actually, a lot of 'great' skinners took there share of abuse and left. Again, most of the people here want to help. There are a few 'trolls' around here who leave some pretty crude and unhelpful comments which I haven't seen comment on your stuff, yet. Those that leave, more than likely leave the site, not Skinstudio (it's too addicting), so SD isn't losing money on the software.
I think you're making the point for the people offering advice. Slow down. 'Read' some stuff. Post some WIP's. Check out the workshop at Skinartistry. They have some detailed 'EASY' to follow tutorials and some very HELPFUL skinners who would enjoy assisting you. You keep saying you do it for 'fun'. I can guarantee it will be more fun if you take some of the advice you get here, slow down, and test your skins, preview them, actually use them for a week or the same amount of time it takes you to make them. Even the so-called 'professionals' skinners will ask for testers before they upload them. Go to the forums and search 'testers'. Vstyler, RomanDA, pictoratus, Mountain Dragon, Koasati and others, (even me, a non-professional) , all have asked for testers. They do it for fun, too. Yet, even with all their experience, they still want to be sure it's right.

Very angry customer
Korper, stardock isn't necessarily responsible for creating vista only skins.
Stardock sells you windowblinds software to give your pc the ability to apply different gui skins/themes. The skins/themes are created by users much like yourself/myself and the rest of the wc/skinning community. Alot of the wb5 skins currently available on this site look pretty decent on vista so I'm not sure what the complaint is about. Plus there are master skins that you can purchase (let me guess... you groan at the thought of making an additional purchase on this site) if the free user submitted skins aren't quite up to your high standards. You could also get involved and learn how to create a wb skin and skin your own machine - personally that's how I got involved in working with wb's - once I discovered that I could create my own wb skins as well as using other skins on this site, I started creating skins for my own use, once I figured they were half decent enough that other people might like them, I started uploading to this site.
Jedi, you skins are a little rought and do need more work but I'm very glad that you are persistent (stubborn) enough to continue working on them and uploading them to the site. You will get better with practice, some people take longer than others to get better at skinning but you can't get better without trying and that's one thing you're doing and should be given credit for. I would focus on spending more time when working on your skins and run them on your machine for a few weeks to see if it's a skin you can use for an extended period of time without being bothered by contrasting or bright colors, rough edges, etc. - doing this also helps iron out bugs that may have missed during the initial skin creation process. Plus you've nearly achieved 1000 downloads for this particular skin so a few people wanted to try it out after viewing the preview so there is something positive to make note of.
Keep on skinning.
a00783 I'm just surprised they still let stay on this site after reading alot of the garbage comments you leave on people's submissions. It's one thing to comment on a skin but it's another to make hurtful comments against someone personally. That's alot of negativity to pump out on a regular basis - is someone crapping on you on a daily basis which makes you lash out at everyone else?

PirateEskimo, if you don't like his skins and find it a hassle to complain about them, why are you commenting on them? Safe yourself some effort and walk away - the skin author's name is listed next to the skin title, if you see Jedi's name on a skin don't even bother checking it out if you feel it's such a hassle and requires so much effort.
The skin comment section is reserved for comments about the skin, not for personal attacks against the skin author, it would benefit everyone if you limited your skin comments to the skin itself. I'm assuming we're all capable of mature behavior on & offline - I'm sure most people including yourself would prefer a site that welcomes users & their submissions.

wow! - that's just rude - do you make it a rule to make jokes of people's misfortunes?
