Xiandi, i hope you don't think i was being critical of the skin. it really is a great piece fo work. it's obvious you've spent many hours working on it. i was only offering suggestions that i think would make it even better than what it is. i am using it as it is now.

Not at all Snidely, I appreciate the input. This is the first time I skinned anything for Vista and if someone sees something that needs improvement...I'm all for getting that advice! It helps to have opinions on what is liked and not liked, and I would definitely want to know if something is not working right. No bruised ego here...all is good!

Love this skin, Xiandi. Something truly different for Vista. I agree with Snidely W's suggestions and have two more to add: The icons in the notification area appear too high in the frame. They are not centered vertically and do not line up with the system time, show-hidden-icons button, and the rest of the taskbar icons. The Quick Launch icons are centered perfectly; perhaps you can use them for a reference. Also, when Windows Media Player is minimized to Toolbar mode, it likewise floats too high in the taskbar, vertically. Otherwise, everything looks beautiful and the skin, IP and cursor are a joy to use!

RRRozie, I can't seem to get the media player into toolbar mode to check that. It's funny, I didn't touch the tray section on the Vista substyle and it was working perfect with the XP version, so I'm not sure why it moved. Looks like I'll be doing some more tweaking on this.

I really like this skin apart from a few problems The first is with the systray icons as mentioned by RRRozie, the second is also with the systray in that the background graphic appears to be stretched both vertically and horizontally, it's a bit hard to explain, I'll see if I can get a screen grab (I have had this issue with some skins in the past and it was always down to the taskbar being to long or something, mine is currently running at 1920x200, the skinners used to have to adjust something to make it work properly. Lastly is the window bar (is that the right name?) the bar at top of windows that has the close/min/max and title of window on it. Basically it looks HUGE, maybe thats the way it is supposed to be? but it looks about a centimetre and a half tall, which is HUGE as mentioned

size of the left and right panels of the start menu.
the logoff buttons and search "dialog" need to be centered
Fixed. Both were actually the same issue, all I had to do was adjust the margins on the start menu.
The icons in the notification area appear too high in the frame.
Fixed. It was the margins again.
systray in that the background graphic appears to be stretched both vertically and horizontally
I set it to tile rather than stretch, it's the best I can do because of the pattern of the graphic.
it looks HUGE
I designed it to be 36 pixels tall. That's the way I like it.

I like this skin and appreciate the Vista update, but is there a way to make this look better. It looks as if it doesn't belong. Other than that the skin works well http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d187/The__Goo/tech%20support/organic.jpg Photobucket

The_Goo, it looks like you loaded the XP version on your Vista machine....Try loading it again, but choose the vista substyle. The Startmenu for Vista looks different than that.

Xiandi, I just applied your 7/13 update. Thank you! The Vista start menu looks great and the tray icons are better--maybe even a tiny bit too low (really nit picking now). As for Windows Media Player in toolbar mode, first launch and minimize the player to the taskbar, then right-click on the taskbar and select Toolbars > Windows Media Player. You'll see that the Media Player toolbar floats right at the top of the taskbar rather than in the center, vertically. Overall, I'm loving this skin and know that anything you do will only make it better!

Now unique blinds like this deserve 4.5 stars or higher, not those vista look-alikes (bleh). This is way better than the "subtle" look alot of blinds go for.
