Ceaszer this could be made into a very nice skin and used with both XP and Vista with a substyle. But you got a lot of margins wrong with the top and bottom of the start menu. If you would like I can do a little work on this one this afternoon after I get back from the office. I'll do the substyle for the xp and vista versions and get things in order for you. Then send it back to you so you can see what I did and figure a good way to do this better next time. Your idea is really a good one - just needs a few tweaks here and there. This skin actually has so many variables to it... you could do almost 4 substyles for start buttons and user icons with xp start menu and vista start menu.
I've yet to try it - but I bet it would color richly also! I'll be in touch with you soon.

I see that you are new here. I don't expect for you to be an expert yet, so i'm not criticizing you. In the future, try to create your own graphics for your skin instead of using pre-made Vista elements. There are already enough Vista-esque skins out there. Otherwise, not bad for your first skin!

good first effort...with me, the whole start menu comes out double and the icon box in the wrong place. is this for xp and vista or what?
