btw, are you sure you uploaded the right file? It says updated, but still returns only the WBA instead of a zip like it (assumedly) should be, with the extras and updated theme.

I downloaded the latest version, but like others have said, it does not seem to include the implied updates.
The start menu does not seem to fit the theme, and uses a blue tone of gray with a vista styled UI. I do see a modern and colorable version of the theme, is that the extra optional goodies?

Please let me know if you still intend on adding a start menu update. Otherwise I will get started on skinning it myself.

SemoB!
Thank you so much for creating this!! This looks amazing! If I may make a suggestion. I was getting this skin to really look like Windows 98. One thing that makes Windows 98, it's unique look was the quick launch. You can add the quick launch in the toolbar, however, when adding the quick launch with the small icons setting for the taskbar, the quick launch icons are raised up on the taskbar and not in the middle. If you can fix that so it is in the middle and not raise up (like you would see it when the taskbar uses the normal size icons) then this would be a 100% perfection! Also, I tried recoloring the UI, and it doesn't change it. Is that something you are still working on? Anyway, once again, this is amazing! Good job!
UPDATE (June 30th 2020): I noticed that when switching to dark mode on taskbar, the quick launch icons are correct! So it just needs an adjustment on the light mode. I like using light mode because I don't mind using the windows 10 start menu the light mode blends better with the 98 gray color. Plus then the other system tray icons are black. So somehow the quick launch icons are off with the light them but normal on dark mode for the taskbar.

This skin is really rad. If you could make a Windows 2000 looking version however, I would honestly cry with joy.

2000 is very close to Windows 98. Basically, if the skins were recolored:
Active Title Bar colors: R:10, G:36, B:106 Gradient: R:, 166, G: 202, B:240
Default Background Blue: R:58, G:110, B:165
The rest of the Windows color (The overall gray color for taskbar, Windows, borders...etc...) R:212, G:208, :200
That would basically be it for 2000.

Hello both, thank you for your comments. I apologise for the delay. I've been having some issues with uploading the update. I've been trying to sort it out with WinCustomize support for a while now but I've not yet been able to reach a solution. I will definitely update it as soon as this is sorted.
Thanks for your feedback. Would you be able to show me screenshots of the issue you're having? I can't seem to be able to replicate it on my computer.

Hey no worries! Thanks for the reply.
I noticed the same thing happens if I use the "desktop" toolbar as well, but I am not worried about that just the quick launch.
To get the quick launch in Windows 10.
Right mouse click on taskbar. Select "Toolbar" Then select "New Toolbar" Then Enter
"%UserProfile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch" Press select Folder.
Right mouse click over the quick launch. Make sure lock the taskbar is unchecked. Also uncheck "Show Text and Show Title"
Mmm...I haven't figured out how to add images...because I made screenshots...I l clicked on the plus sign and put in the source...but nothing shows up?

I see what you mean. Strange. I will investigate it over the next couple of days and see what I find out.

Hey SemoB, I have been looking for a way to do this for a long time and your theme works very well on my setup. I've made the registry edits to bring back some older Windows features and I've replaced most of the Windows system sounds. For some reason, my clock in my taskbar doesn't look right compared to yours, and I'm very curious how you themed your OpenShell version. I cannot activate the classic embossing of the other windows or the taskbar in OpenShell without the original classic theme, last used officially in Win7. I have not yet implemented the registry edit you mentioned involving 3D borders on immersive menus. I cannot seem to find a tutorial for this. Another problem I have so far is implementing the theme (or WinCustomize in general) on the Brave internet browser. I was wondering if you would be willing to share any tips with me on these things. I love your theme and I hope to continue using it until I can just make my own modern version of Windows 2000.

I'm curious if there is a way to convert this theme to the Curtains app format. I am not familiar enough with the formats yet.

How is the progress on adding the start menu? I tried installing OpenShell to customize the start menu, which worked, but it would then break the taskbar by having the background of the taskbar be windows default and only the icons for applications and the start button be in theme. Uninstalling OpenShell fixes this, but then I have the default start menu again. Do you know of a way to fix this, or should I wait for the update for the windowblinds version? Thanks

The best ever skin for those who 20 years worked in classic theme but have to switch to windows 10 because windows 7 is not supported anymore ... Thank you a lot for sharing your work!
Skin generally works OK for me (in 20H2) thought I noticed some minor problems in tree selections:

Inactive:
Could you please fix that?

I very much appreciate this theme. I'm always looking for good retro skins and am pleased when someone posts a good one. This is in fact a good one; so thanks!
