drexler, if you're having trouble installing the theme, here's what I'd suggest.

1. Make sure that you are running the most recent WinSTEP Xtreme beta. That's the 2nd beta 3 preview, build 288. If you don't have that, the theme won't work. If you don't know what that preview is, you'll have to wait until Jorge releases the next public preview (it should be real soon now).

2. Go to the folder where you installed the winstep themes. The default is C:\Program Files\Winstep\Themes. Create a new folder in the Themes subdirectory and name it "Paint on Glass" (don't include the quotation marks).

3. Download the file for the theme from WinCustomize. It should be named PaintonGlass.zip

4. Unzip the file with the decompression program of your choice, and transfer the files in PaintonGlass.zip into the Paint on Glass Folder that you created. Make sure that when you do so, the folder named "submenu" and the files within it are transferred into a submenu folder rather than replacing the files of the same name in the Paint on Glass main folder.

Enjoy

I had the 'no visible text' problem as well. After a restart of Xtreme (as recommended by Burt on the WinStep forum) all was well. Very nice theme. I love the menu and startbar highlights as well as the use of transparency. My only criticism is that the modules are all too 'simple'. I'd love to see painted elements in those as well. Great stuff

The 'no visible text' problem is caused by a bug in the GDI+ InstalledFontCollection class, which does not refresh itself when new fonts are added to the system. As stated, it can be fixed by re-starting the application. I doubt Microsoft will ever fix this bug (they're moving away from GDI+ with Windows Vista), so, for the next release, I'll have NextSTART and WorkShelf using Arial instead whenever this happens - at least you will be able to see the text. Upon restarting the application, the proper font will be used.
