So what would Windows Vista look like if it were running a Windows XP skin (via WindowBlinds for Windows Vista)?

No one uses paint and notepad?
LOL, maybe not everyone has your leet warez connections. I use notepad quite often, and lots of people use paint. The problem with Windows isn't simple tools for simple jobs, quite the opposite. The problem with Windows is MS thinking the OS has to replace every app you go to the store and buy until it is a bloated monstrosity, with only passing consideration to the quality of the core OS itself.
So when someone *cough* like you says there is no point in notepad, I have to wonder what you are proposing. Using a bloated word processing app to read flat text files? A $600 Adobe app to print a "wet floor" sign? Logical? No, wait, the word I wanted was "predictable"...

I use paint.net and PFE/OE for advanced tasks. But notepad and paint load fast and get most simple jobs done.
The other thing is . .If you are MS and you bundle a better app . .. you are in jeopardy of monopoly (again).

heh, I tend to think the Internet would be a whole lot better if people DID use paint and notepad a bit more often. Uber tools in the hands of the unwashed doesn't make life better for everyone, and in terms of web development they make a lot of headaches...

Wonder if this will have to be removed like KoL's Vista skin... That would be funny but kind of hypocritical if they don't ask for it to be taken down. I assume this is still there interllectual propertie...?

btw vista at that build isnt alpha, nor beta either its actually close to releasee qual now (according to microsoft).

YAY! Release Candidate 2 was finally released Friday! Finally the terror of beta-testing this thing will be over in about 2 weeks...this is something I've waited for for almost 5 annoying years....I think all of you (beta testers) will agree

Interesting but I'm still not buying nor upgrading to Vista. From what I hear from all over the net including Windows only sites Vista is and will be crap.
