Windows Vista AND LUNA!

The power (or horror) of WindowBlinds

Saturday, September 30, 2006 by Draginol | Discussion: Customization

So what would Windows Vista look like if it were running a Windows XP skin (via WindowBlinds for Windows Vista)?

The horror.  The horror.

(before anyone asks, WindowBlinds for Windows Vista isn't available yet, it'll be on Object Desktop this Fall).

The Start Panel is interesting.  It is fully drawn with the Luna style, except for some of the new Vista elemkents.   Neat

Could be worse. You could have made it look like OS X. What Vista needs is some circa 2001 glassy effects and icons that look like they came in a bag of candy... right? Sadly, that's probably what we we seem to be in for.

Sorry to be a pooper, but I'd have much preferred a new file system to desktop glam. They should just open the hooks to companies like Stardock and let them worry about aesthetics, and give people what they need, the most innovation and stability in the USE of their computer as humanly possible. Microsoft's s.o.p. seems to have become trickling out innovation so slowly that new OS versions don't have to compete with the innovation of the previous ones.

Sorry, sorry, /rant off. It's just that this screenshot struck an ironic chord with me. I think that the screenshot here is a bit more honest than MS is.

This is confusing! You can make XP look like Vista and make Vista like XP! If were to choose from those I would pick XP looking like Vista.

Hmm, that Solitaire would look hot on OS X.

Come on, you need the last on: Win 3.1. Come on. It's a real classic.

Maybe so, but me thinks it looks just fine on my PC with Vista decked out with a nice DesktopX theme and matching Objectdock to launch it from....oh, and CursorXP themed pointers to select cards, etc. Yep, they all work on Vista RC1 just fine, as does Winstep Xtreme.

Oh the possibilities are simply amazing....roll on VistaBlinds, Vista IP and all the other Stardock goodies.

This is quite scary...I can't wait until WBVista comes out so I can be rid of this boring UI...I guess I got bored of Aero when I had XP...Oh well.

well, interesting... but just makes me saad to think that this will confirm many peoples thoughts regarding Vista, that it is just XP with glass. (not my op by the way!)

Is this done by just changing the classic style or can this util the glass too?
