Vista Skins: Which Themes Are You Using?
Short list of my favorites
Tuesday, May 22, 2007 by Island Dog | Discussion: OS Customization
Since my switch to Vista full-time I have been having a great time customizing it and getting away from the typical "Aero" look. Now some people have expressed to me that the like the Aero look, and I have no problem with it except it has now gotten old. I used Aero for months and months, so now it's time to change Vista to the way I want it.
In the last few weeks some skinners have released Vista versions of their WindowBlinds skins, but I have also been running skins made for XP without problem. There have been a few XP .msstyles I have converted and used as well, and I have been downloading skins like crazy lately.
This is my current Vista desktop....
Right now I'm using the Stingray skin by Z71, along with ObjectDock Plus and the matching Stingray icon pack. I wanted a darker skin, and I liked the colors used in this skin.
These are a couple of skins I have been using over the last week or so as I change out every few days.
Vienna for Vista by vStyler
This skin also has an XP version, and both are great skins.
Nuage Redux by essorant
I really like the transparency in this skin, and it's definitely something different from the default Vista look.
So for all you Vista users, what skins have you been using on Vista?

WB skinning for vista hasn't been that difficult, the only thing I do differently now is stop using "magic pink" when creating images with transparency. I just import the png's as is and allow skinstudio to create the tga files as necessary and adjust with the transparency & translucency controls inside of skinstudio.
Alot of the existing master style skins (danilloOc, mike bryant) look awesome in Vista too.
When I do switch from vista default gui, I use either my own or acrylic, aerial, arrow, - largo looks good too. I've also used z71's impulse when I'm in the mood for bright blue, Thallos by Kol looks good too, plus every now & then I switch to adni's vista v2. It would be nice to see some new vista-esq skins in the gallery from the masters that used populate the wb gallery frequently in years gone by. I'd also love to see some of greyhaze's stuff converted for use in Vista.
I could go on & on, I think I'll just end my verbose post here

I like Dreamland, and Eminence. It depends on whether I want a darker or more CLEARER blind.
I also like nuage redux, Ceirous, Ecliz, and Eclize_Deluxe2 as well..
Those are just some of the FEW themes that I bounce around with, I could go on and on.. I tend to like finding new stuff often.. I do like the default Vista Aero theme but I am Big on custimizing my Puter to JUST the way I like it.. But anyways those are just a few of the themes I am using as of late..
Blessings

I find this skin very appealing because of the really cool transparency and shadow effects around the window frames. I look for something similar almost every day....but it's still the best, in my opinion.
I'm using Rube Blue CursorXP and the free version of ObjectDock.
Icon set is Orion Green version with some custom selected icons.

Virtual Desktops doesnt seem to handle dual monitors very well, and DesktopX is pretty much redundant if you have a well set-up sidebar.
