That's what I've been trying to find out since they posted about this yesterday.  All the thread titles say user, some content says user, others says customer.  No direction on what type of customer...completly new customer or the millionth person to buy something from Impulse, implying that all of us have a chance at it.

Wow, that's quite a work horse

12GB RAM? I'll never get used to how odd the amount of RAM gets with 6 slots for memory.

I intend to build my own, something like that. Except with the Nvidia graphics card, latest, and possibly liquid cooling. Including a motherboard capable of overclocking. I have most of my list finished for it, just need to get the funds then.

Thing about the Intel 7I CPU is that you really don't need it for gaming. Games are not programmed to take advantage of it properly. You're only going to be getting a bare few extra frames from it when running Crysis (I blame Crysis for this though, it had shoddy coding), but excellent for multi-media editing purposes. It's like buying a really fast car that would require you to break the law and being insane to actually use it properly. Although it's something to last you for a long time, no doubt.

The AMD cards is a good idea, getting the most out of your PC at a fairly cheap price. Again, Nvidia is better, but your not going to be using it fully at any time for any game out there. I refer again to the fast-car example.

If you want a powerful gaming rig, without the flash of a fast car, an AMD high end CPU and AMD Radeon graphics is what you'll want. Also, spend the extra for a 2 ms refresh rate on a wide-screen. You may be sacrificing an enormous scree, but nowadays you can get a fairly big screen with a 2 ms refresh rate, which prevents ghosting and allows you to wear 3-D glasses. I'd say the nerdgasmic experience is worth it.

Still surprised by the lack of a definate answer from SD on who is eligable.

Best i can get is a new customer, so new email nick, and that that person buys something.

Does that include retail bought items that are regged under a new customer?

Too many grey area's.

And oh yeah...I want that PC!!

It seems awfully clear to me....and I was asleep on the other side of the world [my side, obviously] when this was announced.

What's so hard about - being the 1 millionth registered user of Impulse who has purchased something with Impulse?

OK...the hard bit is...it won't be me....

...but acually what it all means is...I'm happy for Stardock's/Impulse's success....and for whomever is the lucky 1 millionth...

That customer is getting rewarded for what 999'999 previous customers has achieved, it takes the joy out of this otherwise really great event.

the millionth Impulse customer.

In the Op comment....in this thread.

Stardock will be giving its one millionth Impulse customer

in this one.... https://forums.wincustomize.com/343545

And probably elsewhere as well...

OK, so it's just the three words...but what they add up to is ---- millionth [person to register and use] Impulse [to purchase something and thus be a] customer.

'tisn't hard, honest....

This is like the Cell phone company giving crazy deals on a cool phone to new customers.  The loyal customers can pay full price and jam it up where the sun doesn't shine.  Ah marketing, why take care of the ones you already have.  Obviously, they can't give everyone a $4000 PC, but why give one at all.  Give the one millionth customer a few free My Color themes, or equivalent.  $4000 PC is extravegant.  This just leaves a bad taste.
