CursorFX Plus 2.02
Wednesday, June 3, 2009 by Island Dog | Discussion: Personal Computing
Today, Stardock has released an update to its popular cursor changing and creation application, CursorFX Plus. CursorFX allows users to create and use custom cursors on both Windows Vista and Windows XP. It takes advantage of the visual effects features in Windows to enable things like alpha blended cursors, image effects, and more.
This update includes:
- Fix for HUGE cursors in the preview
- Fixes suspend/hibernate issues
- Misc Win7 Tweaks
This update does not officially support Windows 7 at this time, but it should be work without much issue. Current users of CursorFX Plus can download the update via Stardock’s Impulse. CursorFX is available for $19.95, and discounts are available for Object Desktop subscribers.

I had issues with the pointer getting stuck over links in firefox and such that made me disable it. I'll test and see if it's resolved.
UPDATE: Applying cursors/effects are still bugged. *sigh*

Just did the update on a Vista Home Premium 64 bit system and everything seems to be working okay, even effects and trails.

You mean you don't need to apply twice when switching any setting?
After downloading the update, rebooted the system. It applied the cursor I was using. Opened CursorFX and applied an effect and I had to apply the cursor skin again in order for the effect to show up. Is that what you are refering to mickeko? It seem logical to me since I was changing a cursor setting, didn't take it as a bug.

having toclick apply twice is not a bug, it aldso happens on the 32 bit version, what i would like to see is a way for the cursor trails and click effects to be coloured the same way as the cursor can, there seem to be a lot of blue effects yet not all cursors are blue, seems odd not to be ablt to change their colour

Regardless of what I've done, when I click apply, CursorFX will remove the current cursor skin and revert to windows default. I then have to apply again to get the cursor properly skinned again. It may be a minor problem, but I find it hugely annoying when tweaking settings.
I've not run into the stuck cursor issue with this build yet. I'll keep my fingers crossed and hope that issue is resolved.

its the same when you apply an icon package or windows blind in that it reverts to the default in between the changes though you don't see the in between state

No, it's not. I don't need to click apply twice when applying something in IP or WB.

I've not seen it yet. But I haven't used this version for too long.
