Stardock Forum Maintenance - July 1st

Tuesday, June 30, 2009 by Island Dog | Discussion: Personal Computing

On Wednesday, July 1st we will be performing database maintenance on all Stardock forums.  During this time, there will be periods of outages on all Stardock related forums including WinCustomize, Demigod, Elemental, etc.  The maintenance will commence throughout the day.

We apologize for any inconvenience, but this maintenance is aimed at improving forum performance.  Thank  you for your patience!

Trying to force me to go outside on Canada Day instead of reading the forums?

Out of curiosity why do we not use a PHP or Vbulletin based forum? I'm sure both would use less resourses.

Probably because the forum is much more 'technical' than any 'normal' forum.
It's connected to several other forums + hooked up to loads of various info on each individual user/customer.

Might be possible with PHP/Vb, but I guess it's not adequate for what SD/WB were looking for.

Makes sense I guess. However I notice that compared to other forums this site is very slow and the glitches are numerous.

I am pretty sure that even if you are using PHP/VB you could still have connection to the central database at SB/WB, and isn't PHP and VB the most advance fourms handlers out there? so how could it not meed SB/WB criteria
