The WindowBlinds 7 skins start arriving
Monday, November 2, 2009 by Frogboy | Discussion: Personal Computing
I’m still running Windows Vista on my laptop. I’ll post more screenshots from other versions of Windows soon on this but here’s a sneak preview of Sublime, a new skin that is part of the WindowBlinds 7 beta.
To get WindowBlinds 7 early, get Object Desktop at www.objectdesktop.com .

Jafo didn't notice this in the new WB update...
Have now, though.
Gonna be my default WB for quite a while, I think.
Pushes Avenger off the desk, sorry, Mike...

I totally disagree. WB7 is beta. Not the skins included. These included skins are supposed to represent the best Windowblinds has to offer.
I'm not going to comment more on the skin in question because I'm sure the issues have been passed on to Startdock Design.
No one's being a baby here.

This is uncalled for and once again Ross is getting a hard time for trying to help.
Since he's a Master, I would expect him to point out flaws in the skin, especially when it's released from Stardock Design.

You chose to install a beta, and this is exactly the thing you may run into when doing so.
I totally disagree. WB7 is beta. Not the skins included. These included skins are supposed to represent the best Windowblinds has to offer.
The included skins are part of the WB distribution package. Obviously they are to be considered BETA just the same as the rest of whatever is included in the installation.
And if the included skins are supposed to be the best blinds on offer, they're sadly failing. They are great skins, but they are nowhere near being the finest of the crop. Imo the skins included only need to represent the bulk of the functionality available, and just a good selection for people starting out in skinning their OS. And they are doing a great job doing just that.
I think Z71s comments: "Who made this? I've never seen a skin, more incomplete and messed up," and "Come on folks. Somebody test these things before release. You guys are better than that." are totally uncalled for. It's a skin that hasn't been included in the WB-package before, as such it IS beta, I haven't seen it available as a released product anywhere... And I would think that the people doing the bugchecking on windowblinds currently have alot more things to do than to check a single skin for bugs on Windows XP, and don't deserve to be blamed in such a rude way for overlooking the issue...

We're looking into issues now.
Thanks for all the information.

It's a proven fact that skinners do not seem to like other skinners much.
The architect who built the skin was revealed though he has yet to take responsibility for the skin.
We're talking about someone who's known by all as the (God Of Skinning). At least that's what (he) was called by 90% of the community when he was submitting works under his name. (His) name and accomplishments will remain fadeless even long after wincustomize is no more.
The most accurate way one can rate or and measure a skinner' skill is by comparing his/her achievement to those of Mike Bryant, Treetog, vStyler, danilloOc, and a selected few.
Being said the above, I expect nothing short of a masterpiece from those I expect the very best. Masterpiece isn't perfection, but can be perfected...further to being more than just acceptable. This skin is a masterpiece that can be perfected.
Complaining is ok as I do it often too. But Stardock released skins in myColors you must pay to use that are far less acceptable to be granted access to compete with those free skins on wincustomize.
I love this skin on my Vista machine.
That's me --->

Great design, the problems can always be corrected, but designs like this one we can't see everyday

Since when, did Stardock start Beta testing thier windowblind skins? I guess I didn't get that memo. The program is in beta, not the skins. Sorry! In over 10 years, I've never seen Stardock say they are releasing a skin, that's 80 or 90 percent done. Nice try.
That's your opinion. If you think I was in the wrong, PM an Admin. or Moderator, instead of calling me out. You're just wanting to cause trouble, if you do. Since you're new, I'll let it slide.....this time.
I "MAY" have been just a little harsh, but as I stated. I really like this skin. It just threw me, that it was "that" messed up. It has now been brought to thier attention and will be fixed. Job done.

I disagree...there are a lot of skinners that I like, a lot. I don't know how many like me tho.....

Well, that's a load of crap, however there are always differences of opinion...most of which are quite healthy...
