Put Animated Snowflakes on Your Desktop with DeskScapes

Monday, December 6, 2010 by Island Dog | Discussion: Personal Computing

Winter is pretty much here, and although some of you may be experiencing real snowflakes outside, maybe you would also like to enjoy some animated snowflakes on your desktop.  DeskScapes 3 has a Snow effect that puts animated snow falling on your desktop.  Just select it from the Effects tab, and any wallpaper you are using will have a really cool snow effect added!

Why is it, when I apply the snow effect, the background picture goes away and all I have is a black background with snow? Also, I don't have the snow effect listed, it's only listed in the background tab.

You know, I've had Object Desktop for a few months now but had purchased several of the programs individually prior to doing the whole  thing and I'm really asking myself why now because I can never get things to work the way everyone else can. *sigh*

NYC is just so beautiful at this time of year that to commemorate some wonderful memories from growing up... hot chestnuts, Rockefeller Plaza and the Christmas tree, 42nd St.

Well, this is Patrick Mathew's NY Time Dream with the snow effect. The WindowBlind is "Tinted" by MirsGuy.

Thanks, Stardock for these great memories....

Are you on XP?

It sounds like you have applied the winter snow dream.  If you click on the second tab at the bottom when you have this dream selected you should be able to pick a static wallpaper to put under the snow.

Love the snow dream, use it all the time

Also Tigrisan, the image you use for the background needs to be a jpg, not a bmp (at least on XP) in case that's tripping you up.
