The 2012 Stardock Customer Report

Each year we send out a customer survey which many of you probably participated in, which asks our customers a variety of questions and gives us a look at our customer base and gives you a chance to give feedback that we can work with.  We take this data and look at it very carefully, and put together the results and share it with our community.

Stardock’s President and CEO Brad Wardell presents the Customer Report and talks about where Stardock started, what we’ve been doing, and where we are going in the future.

The full report can be read and downloaded here: https://www.stardock.com/press/CustomerReports/Stardock2012.pdf

Eyalii... Stardock doesn't put out expected dates because it doesn't wish to disappoint people and deal with (undeserved) disappointment and anger.

Frequently when developing software, surprises (both good and bad) pop up unexpectedly. Also, testing is extensive to allow for different hardware configurations and drivers.

So, the best response is to be patient and get a really good product instead of a half baked one.

From the report: "Contrary to what you might hear, Windows 8 is a very good operating system." Sure that's why they dropped the name like a hot potato and switched to Windows Blue. The only part of the OS that's good is the old part, but that was good already. The rest is primarely a mechanism to generate revenue via a blackbox system that in future evolutions will lock the user in the Microsoft moneydraining machine. The UI is generally accepted to be the worst, so bad it made an entire industry stagger on its feet, the OS core  'improvements' are micromal. A minutely faster boot, applications which seem to work faster but don't because Aero has been disabled it just paints faster.

It's a scam.

so far I am very happy with Stardock, especially since they are located in my home state of Michigan, I am like everyone waiting for the arrival of windowblinds for windows 8, I did have some issue with Iconpackager but those have been resolved, so in short I am a happy Stardock camper
