If you do install it follow Wiz's instructions. I didn't and everything worked out anyway.

Ditto. I installed over the old install, no problems. Even the tray icon works.  Good job, Stardock!

Now I past my activation limit so have to wait for them to be reset.

If you go to about, and deactivate license before reinstall, it won't effect your activation limit. Been that way a while now.

Quoting S J N,

Will SkinStudio 8 work with this?

Anyone?

I can't say. But I can tell you that there is a Skin Studio 10, but I think it's still a beta.

You should not use SkinStudio 8 with WB10 as it will mess with activation.

Use SkinStudio 10 which I believe there should be a release build of up now.

You have to use Start10 for the start menu to skin.

Funny thing is, I use DisplayFusion for start buttons on both monitors, and the start button on the secondary screen has mouseovers that work. But not the primary monitor.

I am sorry to derail the thread but now with the good news of WB 10 released and working with Windows 10, is there any chance that we will see Icon Packager being compatible with Windows 10 soon too? That other app is all I need to be in my happy computing / desktop customizing place again like I did on Win 7 But yeah, good job to the devs. I've always liked Stardock and their creations and even have a couple of their games on Steam too

Not to be a contrarian but I'm on Windows 10 and Iconpackager 5.10 is working great here. What issues are you experiencing?

If you already own WB you should get a notification (if you signed up with Stardock and don't own a pirated copy) via email offering a discounted price to upgrade. Otherwise you buy it full price.

SkinStudio is a separate program that customizes the skins and yes, works with WB10.

IMO though, still have yet to see some really nice skins out there that pay attention to even the slightest of details. Everything available appeals to that of a 15 year old. Yack

Just don't uninstall it because if you do it will break your OS, perhaps rendering it unusable.

I could not get Windowblinds 10 to work on my Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit laptop. I uninstalled WindowBlinds 7 and installed Windowblinds 10. It did install but I could not apply a skin, the UI would hang for about 40 seconds why trying to apply the skin but no change would take place. I checked the about section and it said that Windowblinds was installed properly but windows desktop manager service was not started. I checked services and it was running and it was set to start automatically.

I uninstalled again using Revo Uninstaller Pro and reinstalled Windowblinds with the same result. I uninstalled 10 and went back to Windowblinds 7 and it works fine. I am actually in the minority and prefer the look of the old UI. The only reason I tried to upgrade was for the new skins. I made sure to grab those before I uninstalled Windowblinds 10.

Do you have any AV or security software running?

I have Panda free and Malwarebytes Pro running. There was no indication from either of them of a problem and Windowblinds 7 installs fine. If one of those was the culprit I will never know (could check logs I guess) because I am happy with Windowblinds 7.

Actually I have not installed IconPackager yet, I am running the latest update build of Windows 10 (Some call it 10.1) and I am afraid to try it. but if it works I will install it. I held off after Windows 8 was released.

Great to know about it breaking the OS if I remove it. Kind of afraid to see if I do install it if the next major OS build update will break this like it did with my other programs

DO NOT INSTALL ICONPACKAGER ON WINDOWS 10.

It is not supported, and will cause issues.
