Issue persists with 2004 update, but now Calc won't paint correctly on subsequent relaunch.  Both Calc & Settings windows paint solid accent color and are unresponsive.  Keep having fun, Neil.  

Unfortunately we do not seem to have any way to reproduce this.

I would recommend you disable the option in Curtains to not apply styles to universal apps.

Unchecking 'Apply styles to compatible Windows Universal applications' fixed it.

I'm getting the same thing. When I click on Curtains.exe it disables WB and applies Windows Default theme and when I click on it again the Curtains config window opens. When I click on a Curtains theme I DL it applies the Windows default theme with WB applied and I have to open Curtains config to apply the theme.

There is no curtains.exe file.

Which file are you running?

It is not possible to apply a curtains theme from outside of the config UI.  Double clicking on them will simply install them and open the config UI.

Sorry Neil it's CurtainsConfig.exe. When I click on this with WB loaded, Windows default theme is loaded. I have to click on CurtainsConfig.exe again to bring up the Config screen.

Clicking on a curtains theme from the desktop will bring up the config screen if WB is not loaded. If WB is loaded at the time it will apply Windows default theme then I have to click on CurtainsConfig.exe to bring up the config window.

That would seem to be a bug.

That said if you are opening Curtains, it is logical to assume you are going to apply a Curtains style in which case WB has to be disabled.

Sorry to post here but didn't found other than releases topic to ask.

While it may sound strange , I'm pretty happy with a previous beta build ( no issues with my config and other apps unlike most recent curtains releases ) but my problem is I can't load ith anumore as it leads me to your web page with new release to download . 

I just want to use this beta version even I paid for curtains but how can I stick with and prevent to open my browser app for update available instead of launching the config executable ?? 

Thanks for help I really wish to keep running this version which doesn't make any conflict with my regular apps ! 

PS: I did an uninstall and reinstall of the beta but no way to run it properly , it opens my browser :/

Sorry to hear you are having trouble.

Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time. A "Run" dialog box will pop up, please paste the path below into the "Open" field and press OK.

%ProgramData%\Stardock\

In the folder that pops up, you should see a folder named Curtains. Please delete this folder and all of its contents.

After you have deleted that folder, please attempt to activate once again and it should succeed without any errors.

Is there any workaround which would let me still using the beta build ? ( registry or anything else ? ) 

The beta builds time expired and unfortunately there is no workaround for that.

Release builds and betas post release do not expire like that, only prerelease betas.

So with that, uninstall what you have, install from your account page, and activate it as you normally would:

Creating a new theme, specifying only a taskbar button, then applying the theme seems to cause an Explorer crash/restart loop.

I have tried here and cannot reproduce it.

Could you go to your curtains folder, find curtains64.dll and let me know what the file signing date is on that please.

Also if you are able to send me a style which causes the issue it would help as we would like to reproduce it and fix it.

What I did to create the theme:

Opened Curtains and clicked on "Create new" tab
Went to Taskbar tab
Picked taskbar button from the dropdown
Clicked "Pick image" button
Loaded the "taskbar-button.png" image from Cairo Dark
Applied changes
