Wednesday, October 12, 2005 by Island Dog | Discussion: Windows Software

Apple has released iTunes 6 for Windows and Mac. You are now able to download and view videos, and tv shows. This new release comes at the same time Apple unvealed the new video iPod.

From the Apple website.

"iTunes 6, the next generation of the world’s most popular music jukebox and online music store, lets fans purchase and download over 2,000 music videos and six short films from Academy Award-winning Pixar Animation Studios for just $1.99 each."

Hang on, V7 will be out next week, Apple are on a fast release schedule. V17 is the target for xmas.

I think the deal Steve Jobs struck with the coders where they get a bonus every new version might have something to do with it

Did you say version 17? That's a HUGE jump in only two and a half months. Wonder what v17 gonna be like???

I hear they are planning new buttons for V17, well not all new buttons, they need to hold something back for V18

heh.. something that unnerves me about that.

aside from adding video content and the like, i hope they're planning on large changes rather then just swaping out buttons or tweaking things here and there between each full release.

sound like the OSx series?

you really wunna download a new player every week? or download the player at least monthly with a series of changes and improvements, tested, and stable?

I DID the download... my programs (IE, Firefox, etc) could not connect to Internet, while my ADSL line was okay, if iTunes was up. And itunes 6 could not connect to the iTunes shop....So I had to go back to iTunes 5.1. I agree that they souldn't publish unstable software just because ViPod will come out...

I am using it now. Mostly I wanted it to see the music videos on heir and to see if they made it easier to look for them.

I also donloaded a plug-in that shows what I played in the last hour and what my favorite songs are.
