This is so cool! Thank you. I love having the weather on my desktop and now with the animation, it is even better. Thank you again.

Doesn't seem to work here. I'm in Canada.

It crashed on me. I'm using dx 1.3. The bar was blank. Is it compatable with previous versions?

Brilliant work, love it. Shame it doesn't cover the rest of the world. And the only American zip code is know is 90210

for me, the cloud that is shown in the preview never goes away. i've tried numerous zip codes and the cloud is always there. there's not a cloud in the sky here.

Frogboy...is there a way for you to add some sort of module to this? Like a metarcode reader, etc, just like the sysmetrix.

I hope so.

This requires DesktopX 2 (1.98 or later).

It's objects like this that is making DX2 a believer out of me. I hope takes off from the developer's view so we can see more productive objects like this in the future. I can see a great future for DX2 and the way it works. Congrats Frogboy.

I have the latest version of DX, but it won't let me change the zip. Actually, it doesn't do anything other than show the default city with clouds... It's a great idea though!

To change the zip you have to click on the name of the city in the image. This will bring up a dialog that will ask you for your zip code. I get an error after changing the zip but if you click ignore it updates properly.

Let me reiterate for clarity.

This object will only work on DesktopX 1.98 or later and only works for US zip codes. Unfortunately I cannot find a satisfactory webservice for international weather.

If anyone can find one I'll be happy to make an International version

Doesn't work for me either, and I'm in Massachusetts. Writing weather scripts is a thankless task. If you want another XML weather source try http://weather.interceptvector.com/.
Otherwise, you just can't beat parsing the HTML from weather.com.
