I've downloaded and extracted the 'DockletX.dll file into the DesktopX/SDPlugin folder' (as stated in your readme file). But,I'm not understanding this part --- under Additional Abilities, click "Add" and select the DockletX plugin. --- I can't seem to find it when I open Object Properties. Any idea where I'm going wrong?

karmat: When you open an object properties, there should be a section named "Additional Abilities" with 3 buttons (Configure, Add and Remove).

c242: You didn't look at the readme

Most of the Weather docklet code is hardcoded inside ObjectDock, so there isn't much I can do. There are a few other weather docklets based on the weather.com XML feed that do work with DockletX.

Hello, I have the same problem than karmat. I've downloaded your plugin, have objectdock (v.1.90) and Desktop X installed (v. 3.5), but i don't understand this : "in the Object Properties, under Additional Abilities, click "Add" and select the DockletX plugin". Which object is it ? When i right click on a docklet in objectdock the only choices i have are : This Dock / Remove Entry / Dock Entry Properties. When i right click on the objects i have in the folder "Stardock\Object Desktop\DesktopX\Objects", i can't find Additional abilities. I've tried to quit objectdock, desktopx, to reboot, but it's not working ! Can you explain to me how can i manage to select the docklet plugin (it's driving me crazy !!!) Thank you very much...

Hi ymmalc!

You need to create a new DesktopX object (from the DesktopX systray menu -> New Object). It will create a new object on your desktop and open the Object Properties dialog.

On this dialog, there should be a section called "Additional Abilities" and three buttons. Click "Add..." and then select "DockletX" in the list and click OK. Click OK again to close the Object Properties dialog.

The DesktopX Object should change (it will show a big ObjectDock icon) and there will be a new context-menu entry to select the docklet to load.

Let me know if you need more help!

Thank you for your help : IT WORKS !!! (i used widget manager to add objects and widgets on the desktop, so i hadn't the "New Object Entry" from the DesktopX systray menu !)Congratulation, it's a great job ! Now, I'm configuring it and i have another question about the configuration (sorry...!) : My mail notifier doesn't seem to work : i have new mail (the docklet in objectdock shows the red circle with a number inside) but the mail icon in desktopX is always the same (just the blue stamp without the red circle) , any idea of the problem ? Thank you very much for your help !!!

It might be a bug in the plugin. Can you tell me which mail docklet (and which mail provider - Google, Yahoo, etc.) you are using so I can try to reproduce it?

I have eventually managed to make it work... The docket can check my mail and i've changed the icon whether i have mail or not. But i can't find a way to display the number of new/unread mail i have in my inbox (like the docklet in object dock...). It's not very important but if you know how to do it, i'm interested !!! Thank you for your help anyway ! PS : My mail docklet is Email notify (SDMailNotify.dll) Version 101, and my mail provider is Yahoo.

If I'm not mistaken SDMailNotify is a DesktopX plugin, not a docklet. Indeed, it only allows you to change the image when there is new unread mail, but there will not be any unread count available.

Is this the docklet you are using in ObjectDock? I just tried it and it works here (showing the number of unread mails in the red circle). You need to try loading it from the DockletX configuration dialog. After creating a new object and adding the DockletX plugin (it should change the object image to the ObjectDock icon), right click the object and choose "Configure DockletX". In the configuration dialog, choose the "Check Mail Docklet" entry and press OK. The object should change to show the blue stamp. You should then be able to CTRL+right click the object to change the docklet settings and add your email accounts.

If you are using another docklet, I need to know the name of that docklet to try to reproduce the problem.

I give you Kudos.  It worked well with Objectdoc plus 1.90.  Unfortunately, Objectdock plus V2.0 is out and it does not work with it at all.  It cannot even see the docklets.  Do you intend to update any time soon?
