martin... excuse the rookie question how do change the color background of the scrolling marquee? Better yet, how do I make it clear / transparent

Dude, I'm a total n00b and I can't believe it, but I figured it out! Right click > Properties > States > Transparency. Then click on the "Make the object" and set the opacity percentage you want.
