I know it could be done. Try to get ahold of brazen bleep or _Martin_ to give you a hand.

This would be a very cool app... or obejct.

Hey - nice! I'll try this when I get home tonite. LOL Travis is a true programmer - he, like me, loves to try and do it on their own. Once in awhile I crumble and BEG people for help, like in resolving the full-screen/resizing ActiveX problem with my TV control. We're all here to help for the asking

I have installed the pack, however I have no text area to use. The entire note is yellow area. Am I just missing the boat?

No you haven't missed the boat, you must not have the activex control installed. I found a copy of it, but i'm not sure if I can make it available legally. It's the Microsoft Rich Textbox Control 6.0 (SP4). I thought it came with Windows, but I guess not. I found an article in the microsoft support forum saying that it comes with visual basic and Access.

I'll keep looking for a way to find it or include it somehow.

Oh yeah here's how to check if you have the control:

If You have win me,98, or 95 go to your C:\windows\system folder and check to see if there is a file named "RICHTX32.OCX" in it

For xp,2000, and nt users check in the C:\windows\system32 folder for the same file

If you don't have it google for RICHTX32.OCX and you should be able to find it

Oofa, I think that's illegal. You're right about it being installed with VB and Access though. VB comes with a TON of useful ActiveX's that are great for us, but it's hard predicting how many people out there have VB or Office and these controls. I am hopeful that Stardock will make it easier in the versions to come to either package non-commercial OCX's with an object, or at least detect when an OCX is being used and if it's not installed on the user's machine, alert them and perhaps provide info on how to obtain it. Until then, there's been talk in the newsgroups of perhaps making a list of the controls available on MOST clean install machines, but we'll have to wait for a motivated individual to check the list after a clean install Good job on the object so far though!

brazen, I need help making the control object. How would you clone the xsticky by another object not in the same group as the object. All I ever get is a copy of the base image that is still a part of the original group. Strange thing is the clone option in the rightclick menu works perfect. I would have emailed you, but I couldn't find your email.

Thanks

LOL Travis, I tried using the CLONE method once and was so disappointed in the results I never gave it another try. It could very well be that the CLONE method doesn't support cloning of a GROUP, only cloning of individual objects. But I could be entirely wrong, like I said I haven't played with .CLONE lately I'll try and play around with it in the days to come!

This looks very nice. Unfortunately, it won't work on my system. I thought it must be the missing RICHTX32 file, but then I found the file in my system directory. Registered the OCX, but Sticky still won't work.

What happens? Does the white textbox not show up or does it give you a desktopx error.

First I get a scripting error "Object Required: Control", "Line 3". And so then I just choose continue and the sticky pops up, but no text box. I re-registered the OCX, but it just did the same thing.

you probably have the wrong control. Make sure its the "Microsoft Rich Textbox Control 6.0 (SP4)".

does anyone else have this problem?

I have the same trouble. The Textbox Control comes with Office and I don't have office.
