I cannot change any of the settings for the snowflake control in Desktopx 3.x. When I try to run it in build mode, I get the error: There has been a script error in object "GR_Snow_Speed_Combo" Variable is undefined: 'Control'

I get the same error message for each of the combo boxes on the control. Do you have any idea what I can do to fix this, I have enough knowledge of vbScript to change whatever might need changed. Thanks in advance, I would like to keep this wonderful program for every year.

Same with me... Some fixes suggested:
If you have XP- downloaded the Windows Script latest version
Update video drivers
I have Vista Ultimate, with WB, and IconX running. I don't know what is wrong, but let me know if those fix your problem!

If you are on Vista and are an Object Desktop user, make sure you have the latest beta downloaded from Stardock Central.
Might also be worth trying to run:
regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Stardock\Object Desktop\DesktopX\SDCtrls.dll"
from an admin command prompt
Unfortunately with the new compositor it may not work as well on Windows Vista as it has in the past on XP. Under ideal conditions most computers should manage 500 flakes or so - 50 is a sign that there is something slowing it down, most likely in the graphics pipeline.

Should work as well as it does on 32-bit. However, as noted above, Vista's display engine (or your video drivers) may not permit it to run at a high level of performance. For what it's worth, my widescreen laptop has 400 in Vista, in DesktopX's hide icon mode.

when i'm using this program, and press the buttoms F9, F10, the snowman hide, and unhide, can i change theese hotkeys to something else? any tip?!

Try this: Open regedit, and go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Stardock\DesktopX Add a DWORD value called HotKey (to replace F9) and set it to one of the virtual key constants (you must set it as Hexadecimal). Add another one called HotKey2 to replace F10.

When I start it's OK,but after 5-6 seconds it stops and all the flakes dissapear.Can somebody help me ?

Usually that's a sign that there's something running in the background that's taken up a load of CPU for long enough to trip the auto-deflake mechanism (I didn't want it lagging people's machines). Check Task Manager.
You must turn off the desktop icons (or use IconX to do the same) so that DesktopX can take full control of it, otherwise it renders each object as a separate layered window, which doesn't work so well. There should be an option for it in the DesktopX configuration.

Your best choice there is to use the snowflake theme for DeskScapes, which runs at a lower level and is therefore more CPU-friendly.

RE snowman to big or not wanting it on screen simple way (and in my case thats best)
is to just pick it up with mouse and slid it off side of screen
