My "Current Flake Count" never goes over 30. How do I get more flakes on the screen? I've tried the settings from the screenshot but they didn't make a difference.

Dorcas: Chances are, you have not set IconX mode or hide desktop icons mode as instructed in the description. If you do not performance will be really bad and it will not be able to do more than 30 before using up all of your CPU. This is because it has to create each snowflake as a separate window in that case, and moving 30 windows around the screen 20 times a second is quite a lot of work for it.

If you have, and it is not using up all of your CPU, but is not going over 30, then there is some other problem - perhaps something is using a lot of CPU for short moments, which could stop it increasing. Or you have a Pentium II 200 Mhz.

D'oh, thanks. I skipped over some of the instructions when I saw IconX because I don't have it installed. I skipped too far

This is very cool!!!!

What settings are you people mostly using, I have a amd64 and radeon video board, been playing with the settings and can't find anything that works really good. had it upto 850 flake count one time, but cpu was max.

Love your snowflake object. I have been trying for a couple weeks to figure out how to change the objects from snow to something else and all I can find to change is the snowmake to another object (made him a spider) but I wanted to change the snowflakes to something else also. Can you tell me how to get to that? I couldn't find in the script where the folder/temp folder is that the flakes are kept in to change them. Thanks!!

The files are probably kept in the %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Stardock\DesktopX\CurrentTheme folder (go to start/run then put that in). You can also just download the dxpack, open it up in a zip program, and replace the images.
