For example a simple digital clock show 0% CPU usage in the Task Manager. But the same clock with a three rotated hands may increase this parameter up to 2%!
Are you sure you need a Madia Player that will use ~ 10% CPU during playback of simple mp3 files?

Give me a link to a radio channel that you couldn't add to the list for testing if this will not help you.

There is no any problems with media player. Just a format of data you tried to play is unknown for it!
Player is not a web browser. It can play only the URL that contains a media playlists (media streams).
So you will not hear nothing if you'll enter: www.choiceradio.com. However if you'll enter: http://syndication.choiceradio.com/asxplay/asx-music/379.asx the player will play misic.
I'm sorry...

I'm listening to http://pngusa.streams.bassdrive.com:8000 and everything's working perfectly
Have you considered scrolling the text (indicating the title of the stream, atm), rather than throwing in an ellipsis?
