I found that although my e-mail box is empty, the widget is still showing You have new Gmails and a 1. Thought you might want to know.

The widget will only show was it got from the last sucessful update. Have you clicked on the gmail logo on the widget to update the atom feed, also there is no error checking if the atom feed is offline for whatever reason, it will just show that last update.

No need to change a registry setting is there? If you click on your name, you are prompted to enter the credentials again.
My email count never goes above "20". Since I belong to more than one listserv, it's not difficult for the actual number to fluctuate from a few hundred to a couple of thousand. Am I missing something or is there some limitation to the widget in this regard?

There is a limit on Gmail's atom feed, although I've not ever had more that 5 unread emails at one time, I guess that limit must be 20. Also, I've not left enough room for 3 digets (i.e. 100+ emails).
The good news is that I'm about to update this widget (under a different name) for DesktopX 3, once I've done that, I'll make a POP3/IMAP widget in the same style. I'll see if Gmail's POP3 can be made to work, if so, then you'll be able to use that widget instead.
