hmmm. When I try to drag and drop a jpeg image, either nothing happens or I get a message that the form is invalid and needs to have a jpeg, bitmap or ico extension. ???

That's because it's looking for a JPG not a JPEG image

oookaaay. When I save a picture (I'm using XP) and I am prompted to save picture as:, I am given options, but JPEG, JPG, JPE, and JFIF are all lumped together under JPEG.

type ".jpeg" or ".jpg" at the the end of the file name to specify which of that lump you want it saved as.

It doesn't do anything for me. If I drag an invalid image, it gives me an error, however, if I drag a valid image, it does absolutely nothing. I'm using DesktopX 2.2.

Sounds like a great widget. I had something similar in mind, but never found the time to create it.
I can't try it here at work, but I surely will later at home.
Is it possible to drag a folder full of images to it? Or at least drag a selection of images to it?

How does it work? Does it use the Internet Explorer to display the images like the picture frame does? (I think, this is not a nice solution for displaying images)

Simple, clean and well done. I cant get the pictures to loop but I like the ability to set the loop speed.

I get an invalid image no matter what I do. I am dragging images straight from the camera with .jpg extensions.

I had the same problem. The pictures from my camera have the extension '.JPG', but the script is only looking for '.jpg' (or .bmp or .ico). I fixed that for me by changing the 3 lines
Case "bmp", "jpg", "ico"
to
Case "bmp", "jpg", "ico", "JPG", "BMP", "ICO"
Now it loads my jpegs fine.
There is just one other thing, that I did not know how to fix: My images use a different aspect ratio (mostly 4x3 or 3x4). Is there a way in DX or VBScript to read image dimensions, so that you can change the aspect ratio of the object? Right now, displaying a 3x4 image as 4x3 looks really strange (especially if there are persons on the image).

this is possibly the best widget created yet! this one looks great, works great and is easily configured and displayed. i love it! great work martin!

my only request would be to allow the user to add a folder location and also something to allow the user to remove images that were chosen previously. i guess a restart of the widget would reset it?

A restart does not reset it, because the Filenames get stored in the registry when you unload it. But as far as I know, just dragging new pictures onto it will replace the old displayed pictures.

OK - updated to remove any issues with case sensitivity (sorry about that).

Also enforced aspect ratio so all images are scaled accordingly - even if images are different shapes.

It's not working. I just dragged and dropped them on there and nothing happens.

Have you definitely loaded the latest version? The widget should be PicViewer12.exe
