I grew up a short drive from that spot; from breathtaking views in Alaska to incredible vistas in Sweden, I've yet to experience a sunset that makes me feel the way I was blessed to feel for so many years, growing up in the Verde Valley. A few years ago, I met a girl, fell in love (read: Got married), moved to another state, yadda, yadda... and you managed to capture a 'dream' from one of my very favorite spots! What can I say but, "Thank you!!!" Though, I wonder if it's possible to create a bit of a time-lapse effect. Sort of compress the few hours in the evening as the shadows grow longer. Magic hour... BTW, Fall is one of my favorite times for shots of, or even just experiencing the Red Rocks. There's a particular time--very close now--when the sun is at that perfect angle. It will illuminate some of the more prominent portions of red rock (including a few sheer walls), while leaving other bits shrouded in shadow, thus achieving quite a dramatic, breathtaking effect.
