is their a way to mute the dream without muteing my whole system?

Yes, rightclick the audio icon in the systray, select "Open Volume Mixer" and you'll get a list of the separate controls for the apps/subsystems currently connected to the AudioDG. Yes, that's new for Vista and a very nice thing indeed. Just mute the channel for "Windows Dreamscene".

This one is *superb*.
I like the subdued colours too personally; too much glaring vivid colours is distracting from what you're actively doing on the PC I find. My favourite so far.

Excellent - peaceful and hypnotic effect. Didn't realize there was sound available until I saw the other comments and unmuted my dream scene volume mixer. A little extra bonus.

FANTASTIC Dream!!! My Favorite so far, excellent job with the looping its perfect! My only 'wish' would be a touch (tiny bit) more saturation, and save it as an MPG instead of WMV.

I have an MPEG-2 version of this skin which I have also boosted the blue channel on. I've been trying to update it but I've been having lots of problems. I'll keep working on it.

I've converted this dream to mpg and it has the same quality but uses less CPU. Great dream. I'm not sure about the licensing and wouldn't want to offend someone by uploading an MPG copy. How does that kind of thing work with dreams? I wouldn't want to take credit for the work.

I have 2 pc's. One for gaming the other for surfing. I am seriously thinking of putting a dream background on the one I use for surfing the internet. However I am not too sure if it has the proper specs.
It has 1gig Ram, an intel processer of roughly 3.0 Ghz, and a weaker graphic card, not really sure which but judging by it's price I would judge around an ATI Radeon 9200 abouts. Would it run the dream backgrounds or choke on it? Btw I will only use that pc for surfing so no heavy duty stuff will be running such as CSS or BF2.
