Great docklet, I've been using it for a week or now. I just registered to Wincustomize to tell you that and give you some feedback: -If someone makes a custom background for it, your text is not vertically centered on the icon, instead appears on the bottom. It'd be nice to have the text centered for custom icons. -If you can make an optional text color to appear when a new item appears in the feed, that'd be great too..because sometimes I don't notice that a new feed has come and a different color text, or icon,would help get my attention. -When I'm not online I get a pop-up saying something like "Invalid Error" which is most likely due to the docklet being unable to update via the internet, that can be annoying for users that continuously go online and offline and should be turned off. -An offline cache of old news feeds that haven't been checked would be a great update. Or a way of remember which feeds have been viewed or not and turning the viewed ones invisible. Hope that helps

The option to change the dock icon does not work. I've tried matching the size (256x256), and it has no effect. Also an option to set what left-clicking the dock icon does (specifically I'd like to go directly to the "view all items" page, rather than the list of headlines popup) would be useful. Maybe also a real "view ALL items" option, so that I can see the items from all feeds, rather than just the one.

Each feed is configured with it's own icon configuration (which is inherited from the current icon configuration when the feed profile is created), so if you want to change the icon for a particular feed you should configure that feed setting.

On the other hand, if you want to change the icon and there are several feeds already in place, change the icon at the "icons" tab and the do a "reset" for each feed.

Currently I am working on an updated version which displays the feeds on a stack (using matonga's stacklib) if you want you may check that beta at Aqua-soft RSSReader Docklet thread. I think I could add the option to show all items on click, or to show the newest item (the updated version's internal reader let you navigate among feed items).

Everytime I change the icon (in either feed settings or docklet settings), it merely comes up as the Objectdock default "questionmark" icon, rather than the one I chose. Sorry I should have been more specific the first time.

Could you test out the latest version from aqua-soft, I haven't seen that problem before.

Unfortunately, I have a similar problem as mentioned... When I change the image for the docklet in the settings, it is displayed correctly there, but the docklet shows the original image. Restarting the program or windows does not change anything. Hopefully someone has a solution...

I have not been able to reproduce your problem neither in WinXP/WinVista/Win7... could you create a backup of your profiles and PM them to me?

Looks like I changed the background in the general settings, but didn't do it in the settings for the RSS feed. This is how the backup looked:

[Item(1-3)]
Type=Docklet
Docklet=Docklets\RSSReader\RSSReaderDocklet.dll
Title=RSS Reader
Image=docklets\rssreader\icons\background.png
ImagesFolder=icons
BackgroundImage=Custom Images\RSS Owl.png
IconMenu=Docklets\RSSReader\icons\menu.png
DockletData=16
LabelData=16
DFontName=Tahoma
DFontSize=11
DFontColor=16777215
DFontAlpha=255
DBackgroundColor=0
DBackgroundAlpha=100
DBackgroundFrame=1
DRodundedCorners=1
PosX=-1
PosY=-1
Width=450
Height=300
ItemAction=2
SavePos=0
Profiles=1
CurrentProfile=0
A0-RssFeedURL=http://www.spiegel.de/schlagzeilen/tops/index.rss
A0-RssFeedTitle=Spiegel Online - Topmeldungen
A0-szBackgroundImage=Docklets\RSSReader\icons\background.png
A0-IconMenu=Docklets\RSSReader\icons\menu.png

After also changing the settings for the feed, it looks like:

[Item(1-3)]
Type=Docklet
Docklet=Docklets\RSSReader\RSSReaderDocklet.dll
Title=RSS Reader
Image=custom images\rssowl.png
ImagesFolder=icons
BackgroundImage=Custom Images\RSS Owl.png
IconMenu=Docklets\RSSReader\icons\menu.png
DockletData=16
LabelData=16
DFontName=Tahoma
DFontSize=11
DFontColor=16777215
DFontAlpha=255
DBackgroundColor=0
DBackgroundAlpha=100
DBackgroundFrame=1
DRodundedCorners=1
PosX=-1
PosY=-1
Width=450
Height=300
ItemAction=2
SavePos=0
Profiles=1
CurrentProfile=0
A0-RssFeedURL=http://www.spiegel.de/schlagzeilen/tops/index.rss
A0-RssFeedTitle=Spiegel Online - Topmeldungen
A0-szBackgroundImage=Custom Images\RSS Owl.png
A0-IconMenu=Docklets\RSSReader\icons\menu.png

and the image has changed. What effect has the change of the background image in "Icons & Images" then?

Regards, Boris

Icons and Images sets the default icon that will be used by any new feed you add to the docklet, changing it at the feed level changes the icon for that feed only; but after a feed has been created, changing the "icons & images" icon will not change iy for all those feeds already configured, it will only change the default image used by new feeds.
