something i learned awhile back is that you shouldn't use the perspective tray as a side dock. it doesn't look right, and you can't make it look right. you should just use a regular flat dock on the left/right with the same design style as you use on the bottom/top one. besides, people aren't dl'ing this for the left/right anyway. just my two cents...take it as you will.

UPDATED following the messiah1 welcomed advices for the left\right positions: no more a real perspective but only the effect of the internal design ! -
I just wanted to point out my feelings on the matter of using the perspective dock on the left right. I personally don't feel it looks right is all. And like I said, most people dl a perspective or "tray" dock to use it on the top or bottom of their screen. I only recently started putting left and right versions in mine because I didn't like the fact of having nothing there. But what I do is create a regular zoomer with the same design style so it matches up.

... thanks for pointing out messiah1, that was my very quick solution: I just flattened the dock borders but I leaved the perspective internal design as it was ! ... btw I'm very interested on your opinion about the automatic fixed reflections for all the normal icons probably the idea is "simplistic" aw better than nothing until we'll have the reflections as 1 of the OD2 new features !

Very nice, Franco!  I like your style ... you seem very willing to push the edges of style, but I appreciate that you are also willing to take a second look on others' advice!  I don't know what the dock looked like before messiah messed it up for you    ... but actually I do get what he was explaining, and good advice it was.  The dock looks great now and something different!

Actually, I ended up using a combination of docks.  I happen to like the new taskbar with Win7, so I get torn between using a bottom dock or the taskbar.  I use a tabbed drawer on the top with zoomers on the sides.  Whatever is on the bottom usually is hidden.  I used to use a 26 monitor but now using a 17 inch Dell laptop with touchscreen, which is my new desktop substitute.  Absolutely worth it and wonderful to use the touchscreen for graphics work!  I got used to all the screen real estate on the 26 monitor, so although the laptop has a lot of space, I can't quite go as wild on the docks and icons etc.

Anyway, Franco, thanks so much for making my desktop fun to play with!!!

... well well Jo I just found another your comment without my answer, sorry again for the delay ...

just to give you an idea of the skin before the changing have a look at Ferrari Colors left\right positions https://www.wincustomize.com/explore/objectdock/16355/        I'm really glad that you are enjoying my skins, this is the best reward ! Recently I discovered the Dual Monitors pleasures, using the 15.6 HP Pavilion laptop as first monitor and a 17. Philips as second one ! sincerely I think I can't live without the mouse but I never used the touchscreen for graphic work, ... so you are skinning just for yourself !? let share your skin here on Wincustomize, Let's keep in touch Jo !
