herd, this is awsome! Great to see a new docklet/desklet come out that's not some stupid cpu measuring...weather displaying thing!

Looks cool, and it's great to see something different for a docklet.

I can add the vuMeter to my doc and select different skins ok, but the meter does not move. I read the help file, and clicked on the "recorder volume" in the docklet settings to set the appropriate source but no luck. It always comes up with only one slider for "FGreen" and their is no select box, just a mute box (unchecked). If I go to properties in the recorder control, I can select under "Mixer Device" a "RealTek HD Audio Rear Input" which gives me 4 source options (including Stereo Mix) with a select box, just like the help file illustrates, but these option don't stick when I close the recorder control.

I must be over looking something obvious, but any ideas would be welcome. Thanks.

Thanks Exorcist.

zaphod2004,

under control panel you can navigate your way to an audio input devices dialog where you can add and remove sources for playback and recording. Maybe you have to add them first? Just click on "Recorder Volume..." from the docklet and on the now opening dialog, open the options menu and click properties. Here you'll have to set the check mark of Stereo Mix in the list box and dismiss the dialog with OK.

If you still can't select Stereo Mix from now on, its likely that your sound card drivers are somewhat stalled and I can't help you further, sorry.

Thanks Herd, in the Control Panel, Sound & Audio Properties I was able to change my default sound recording device from "Fgreen" to "Rear Input" and all is working. This docklet is really cool! Great Job!!!

Hey, excellent docklet!
Anyway, I've created two or more dockicons for this. I didn't find your e-mail address though so I couldn't email you them. Please contact me for further details and I'll send them to you if you're interested.
Cheers

I did everything that you poinsted out in Comment 3, but I the docklet seems 'frozen', because well first it doesn't show any kind of output, and second i can't change the icon. I try to, and it just stays the same.

Nevermind, i figured it out. It was just a setting in my Audio Panel, i had it setup to go through my speakers, instead of through the normal output.

realy nice plugin, but a little usable thing is missing.
an input field in the config menu, to set a link to my mixer.
so its only for looking and not perfect. but i think its
a simple thing 4 da programmer to extend his nice module.

thx, p1mp - consider it done for next release: a context menu item to open your record and playback volumes (mixer)

@yey: sorry I can't do 5.1 - no such hardware.
