That setting isn't written to the file on close.
However, you can edit it yourself.
Locate a line:
Peak=1
in your settings.ini and change it to
Peak=0
That would do. I'm investigating using DirectSound for surround sound meters and adding fast fourier transform algorithms to do
spectrum analyzers but it's a long way to go and very little time available.

Which .ini file needs the peak=0 changed? I only see a .dll and a .chm file in the vu meter docklet folder.

Unfortunately, if you quit object dock it overwrites the peak value back to peak=1. So althought this sounded good it does not work. Thanks though.

They are all frames for one channel in one image. In the INI-File, you specify
if its mono or stereo, how many frames there are and where they are positioned.
You can reuse one channel image on both channels, too. Its pretty straightforward.
However, due to performance issues, there are almost no security checks while
reading a malformed INI file. Crashes may occur. Caveat emptor.
