This is a really nice gadget. Would have been useful while I was in London, as I got caught up by quite a lot of maint.

hehe. yea. that's the tube for yah. problem is that the system is so old that there is no backup lines in case one should break. Not like new modern ones where you have two lines in parallel allowing them to do maintinence on one whilst working on another. I think the tube must be going for a breaking point soon. Just the other day I was sitting home due to doctors orders, I saw that suddenly more and more lines would highlight delays and suspensions. Turns out that there where a couple of incidents which caused ripple effects on the whole tube. Only tree lines was operation normally. Some stations got closed because the shear amount of people concerned the police. So it was nearly impossible to get a tubeline, and very hard to get a bus even because it affected the stations as well. All this while we got this storm coming over London. I was glad to be at home that day.

I live in greece, tubes here work a lot better... but we greeks don't have a system that says so many info such as delays and stuff regarding the tubes... If there was I would like to make one sidebar like yours mate!! No1 for the totaly original idea!

I can if the system has live travelnews available on the internet. Preferable in XML format, but HTML works as well?

Great gadget - I don't suppose you could get it to ignore the closure of Regent's Park? I kinda already know that one

Did the station closure show up in the gadget?
I found that the station closure information they added broke the code again and it couldn't parse the details. Just uploaded an update now. Station closures should be ignored.

Yeah, the new update looks good - quick response time! Unfortunately for me the down-time coincided with my daytrip to London (before I could download your update), obviously beyond your control

Congrats on keeping up with TFL's constant meddling - this is still the most useful gadget out there.

Sorry to hear it wasn't working while you where in the Big Smoke.
Hopefully they'll get back to me about providing the data in a reliable XML format.

This a very cool gadget.
I live in the bay area of California.
And I would love to see and aggregated / configurable gadget like this.
One that could display info for Bart / Amtrak / CalTrain / and the VTA.

Could you point me to any tutorials for creating a gadget like the one you put together?

There isn't any tutorial which I'm aware of. Though I might clean up the code and write up a little tutorial on how to grab HTML data for use in gadgets...

Hey, a minor issue. Currently some very long info is available on the Victoria line, and the text in the info box runs through the date posted. I would guess the text box is just a little too long?

Ah, I'll have look into that. You're probably right about the textbox being too long. There's rarely that much into so it's slipped my testing. Thanks for the heads up!
