I just wanted to know if your Sirus Sidebar Weather, Calendar and Clock are completely autonomous Vista Sidebar Gadgets, as the ones we can load and install from Microsoft site?

Im asking that (stupid?) question because, once installed in Windows (and even if they are not actually added to the sidebar), they will appear in DexktopX control panel. Even if they appear there, no real configuration option is available from there. This is not the case with gadgets picked up from Microsoft site, which do not appear in DesktopX.

Furthermore, I get various error messages when uninstalling them from Microsoft Sidebar control panel itself. This again doesnt happen with the gadgets picked up from Microsoft site.

Can this be related to the program used to generate those gadgets?

Frodo, I don't know the techincal details behind it. I can tell you I used DesktopX Professional to export these as Vista sidebar gadgets. How DX accomplishes that is beyond me.

I hope that is the case. I love the look of these gadgets, but they are causing me problems as well.

doesn't work on vista x64, it says "Problem accessing DesktopX Sidebar-framework." This happens with all 3 gadgets.

Sys32, the sidebar gadgets require the Windows Vista sidebar to work. Alternatively, you can find stand alone versions of these gadgets that run on XP and Vista, without additional software, in the DesktopX Widgets gallery.

Sys32, these will only work on Vista, and only with the Vista sidebar. You can't use them on XP. Use the stand alone versions in the DesktopX Widgets gallery instead.

kwyjibo, it should allow you to input many international city/country pairs. I didn't write the script, so I don't know what the actual limitations are, but I did expiriment with a bunch of major cities around the world.  I know a lot of small towns aren't available, but you should be able to locate a city near you.

Just want to start off by saying that the whole set is very cool...

But there is a problem when I close the sidebar, that the Sirus gadgets remains present on my desktop without it's control menu & the only way to close them is by opening up Windows manager then scrolling down to them.

Is there a fix for that?

phishoyl, it appears to be a glitch in the way DesktopX creates sidebar gadgets. I get it occassionally as well. All I can do is wait for the next update to DesktopX and try re-exporting the gadgets again.
