great gadget...unfortunatley it just freezes all the time so i had to remove it...any ideas why?

Also it cannot connect to local servers using just an IP.

Yes, mine does not seem to report emails correctly either. If I open the email client, it then updates and reports incoming emails. Otherwise, it never updates. I look forward to the updated version.

Could you make it localizable? There seem to be only two localizable strings, for german they would be
x New -> x neue
Messages -> Mails

This is a great idea and would be really useful but for some reason does not report emails correctly , if at all, and does not seem to do anything. It would be nice to have an adjustable poll timer to verify if it is in fact polling but I'm not sure how to check that one way or the other with this version. Also, being able to poll more that one account would be very useful too. I hope there are future upgrade plans for this sidebar gadget as it really is a good concept and no one else, that I can find has developed one, except for GMail.

Hesitated to download this at first due to issues people listed. Glad I finally did though, it's working as advertised and looks great. I can't believe it was so hard to find a simple POP3 mail notifier for the sidebar, I'd think that would be a hot one. Thanks Tom

doesn't work here, since it removes the '0' (at the beginning of my username) automatically in the user name field.

massages = Nachrichten!
And two more Options are nice:
a Option to check the account more often! 5min, 10min, ...
and a Option for playing my own Sound when i got new mail!

I'm having a problem with this gadget, every time I set the user/pass/server and click ok, the gadget crash, any idea of what could be causing this?
