is a great photo and all should have
a chance to see it - plain and simple as
that.Anyone who has been to Yosemite , knows
what a sceenic place it is and a joy to see.
So nay sayers back off on me posting this one

This is supposed to be a "Skinning" site where you submit things you create, not upload other people's work that you like.
There are a million wallpaper sites out there and tons of walls I love..but why get permission and post them here? I didn't make them?
If I made a logon or bootskin with them, sure...because I made a skin out of them..(although there's nothing creative about LogonStudio Vista logons at the moment)..but just posting a wall because I like it makes no sense at all.
If you want to share walls you like, start a thread on the boards and post links to them...don't inflate your downloads with other people's work.
Somebody please correct me if they think I'm wrong.

I have to agree with boss, seems like a cheap way to get downloads. If I was a real *skinner* I would never do such a thing, submitting something I know damn well isn't mine, permission or not (especially when nothing was even modified).
It is a great picture, granted, but why not just make a topic in the forums letting others know about it than try to get more downloads by submitting it as your own....when you make full well known it isn't yours. I'll just go download it from sxc.hu or interfacelift where it was submitted by the *true* author.

My two cents:
- The photograph is beautiful. I'll bet it makes a great wall.
- AzDude, how about you pull it, and have the original artist submit it here? I'd love to see more of his work and see more of your original work.

If the intent in adding the word Vista was to somehow link it to the OS, the wall falls short in that it's not hi-res and not widescreen.
I think as Bebi suggested, a simple link to the author's site where this image is availabe, would've sufficed. "Hosting" it in your own content, permission or no, isn't kosher, especially when no modifications have been made to the image.

I found the original version on interfacelift and it has widescreen sizes: Rock Face by Perelandra. Nothing mentioned about Vista...

In My Defense :
1 - There will always be the few who would want to spoil it
for the many.Thus is the case here.
2 - All rules were followed in posting this wall - it Stays !!
3 - As part of the condition with the original artist , I will
send him the link to view it and see the interest it has gotten
so far . To ( Zubaz ) I will recommend to Victor ( the Artist )
that he become a member here 'cause allot of people would like
to see his work and if he does and wants to display this as his
then of course i would pull it .
4 - I think it is very shallow for some of you to think that all
people know about the WC website - many don't and interfacelift also
and that all people would want to be a member - Maybe this guy just
likes to take photo's and doesn't have the time or the need to want
to put in the effort it takes to organize,package,zip, upload then
wait for moderation ( more than a week for this one ) and more time
spent dealing with those few who always find something wrong no
matter what you do . Dealing with the masses here is tuff sometimes
but a delite most of the time - this is for some people but not for others !
5 - Clearly this photo was right for a wall and i was willing to
do the work to get it here ( downloads so far back me up ) the people
want it .......
6 - Your argument boss is clearly that i am receiving credit for
downloads - and to that i say ( WHO CARES !!!!! ) . This is a Free
site no gain in it for me ! But it did take time and effort on
my part to make it happen , but you would have me shot at sunrise !
7 - Check out my post on comment #11 here - i do care about the WC
family and what's best for them - as I made and dedicated a wall
to one of our own ( MaRose ) who is down and out these days .
8 - That wall unlike this one will get few downloads because it
didn't make the main site - but I bet Ma will like it and that's
all that counts .... ( Hope you fill better soon , Ma ! )
9 - Lastly I would say - In the Advertising game there is No such
thing as bad advertising - any and all advertising good or bad
puts the word out so your continued posts here are welcome - all
people have an opinion and of course they are all welcome here
at WC ..... but more posts will only fuel the fire and peak the
interest in this wall - thus resulting in more downloads ..
