I just found this - I think this is stupendous. I love cloud pics, but I've never found a pic of REAL clouds that did it for me as good as these fake clouds do. Keep 'em coming!

if anyone has 3DS Max, version 3 or later, check out maps\skies\sky.jpg in your max directory. This guy just used some smudges and 3 tiny glows, CHEATER

Indeed these are one of the cloud photos from MAX modified with Painter 6... I had a tutorial about how/why I did this on my web site along with a whole philosophical discussion about whether or not it was cheating. I happen to agree with you that it is. 
Nonetheless, I'm not sure you can argue that this detracts from the time/effort that was put into this image or the improvement over that small grainy photo that comes with your registered copy of MAX.
