Heh - yeah, the big one oh oh!

Can you sent me a screenshot of that part of the screen (preferably in PNG, GIF or JPG format, not BMP)? I haven't heard of this problem before, but it might well be something to do with the fact that I used a TGA image for it - TGA support is still new in WB.

Yummmmmmm

There's effects in this skin that I've never seen anywhere else, and I wonder why there aren't more people using them. The subtle animation in menus and the taskbar when you mouseover them is beautiful. The skin's so complete it makes other 'complete' skins look amateurish. And I love how it doesn't drastically alter the look of windows with chunky buttons or needless extra features.

awesome job. When i customize the color, it doesnt change the bacground on my control panel in category view, its still blue. Not sure if thats wb4 problem, skin oversight, or my fault though

This is a problem with WB - it doesn't (yet) support colour masking of some shellstyle colours. To workaround this, set "Force colouring support" in Display Properties/Appearance/Advanced. Blackcomb will support it correctly when WB does (probably by the time WB 4 is formally released).

Great skin. I only have one problem. Checkboxes don't work in VS.NET. It's impossible to tell whether a checkbox is checked or not. It always appears unchecked. That's probably a minor point, since not too many people here seem to us VS.NET

Other than that, outstanding. One of my favorites.

Odd. It's working here, in both the development environment and in applications I compile - however mouseover does not work. Are you using the WB4 alpha? If not, then I suspect it's been fixed (somewhat) in that - if so, where are the checkboxes that don't work?

Yes, I am using the WB4 alpha, but it happend with the previous version of Blackcomb on WB3.5 as well. The checkboxes work perfectly everywhere else.

Within VS.NET, I haven't found a check box that will work. I usually try it out with the task list or the build configuration dialog. I'm not certain, but I *think* Blackcomb is the only skin that has had this problem. There might have been others, but I must not have used them long enought to be memorable. LOL

I take that back. Most of the checkboxes seem to be OK, however the two I mentioned previously do not. Also, under "Tools" | "Customize Toolbox..." the "COM Components" tab checkboxes don't work, but they do on the ".NET Framework Components" tab.

Ah, I see the problem (thought you meant "real" checkboxes, that get skinned). They messed up and made an assumption about window background colour and button text colour being different. With Blackcomb it's the same (white), so the only way you can tell is if the task is crossed out or not. Sorry, not much that can be done about that, other than suggest you try Blackcomb Dark which doesn't have that problem.

Thx for looking into it. Glad to know it wasn't just me being dumb. (or maybe it was...)

paula: Using a non-English version of XP? That could be the problem - someone reported that the greek version had the same problem. If that's it, I'd hope it would soon be fixed.

My system folders such as control panel and network don't get skinned, it still has the light blue winxp look.
I love the skin though, its great.

s4r: You need WindowBlinds 4 to get those features - currently it's only available to ODNT subscribers, but it should be out for everyone in a bit.

I don't have Office 11, but it's likely that Microsoft assumed button text was black - if so, there's not really anything I can do about it (although if you try Blackcomb Dark it will probably be readable). Sorry.

I'm going nuts here... I've added a desktop wallpaper (jpg) and would like to make my desktop icons transparent so the desktop "appearance" color doesn't show. I'm using WB4 (I think.. listed as 3.9 when I downloaded) Windows XP. I've tried the following; Transparent settings in Windows FX, Changed the "Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop" with windows, set the "Force colouring support other misc settings, nothing seems to work. FYI - I'm not able to change the desktop color either. Every time I reboot it changes back to the default. Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions! GREAT SKIN!!!!
